He knew what he was doing, it should be murder.

Burning down your own community isn't the right thing, but peaceful protesting ain't working.

I don;t know if I'm being naive here but how in hell's name have they not been able to arrest that cop yet?

I saw a quote, possibly from a federal investigator, that there was exculpatory evidence and that they didn't want to rush anything.

What could possibly throw doubt on the appalling, callous and (presumably) criminal conduct of that cop with the knee on the guy's neck for 8+ minutes, I'm not sure.

Wouldn't you just arrest him and determine that later? It's not as if there isn't just cause for an arrest - or is the law so different over there?

And he had the obligatory right wing "THUGS" reference in there when talking about black people.

I don't recall him wheeling it out when white right wingers, armed to the teeth with battlefield weaponry, were taking over government buildings in the past month.

I think there are some very fine people on both sides

When a PRESIDENT says when the looting starts, the shooting starts you have to got to admit that he has crossed a line (for the umpteenth time, just in brighter lights this time) call it out for what it is without bringing others into it. He wasn't forced to say that by anyone.

I'm not going to lose too much sleep over it. He's a clown and I'm not surprised he said something as stupid.

Regardless of what he said, your side would have micro dissected it and found some non existent "dog whistle" to be outraged about

I don't have any side. I don't think there's much dissecting required of that statement. He's inciting violence, I would be very concerned if I was American with that sociopath in charge.

Is the Jordan doc worth a go as a sports fan, but not a basketball one?

Yes, I'm not a basketball fan but I've really enjoyed it, very driven guy.

Heaven forbid

As the death toll rises, Trump's claims to global leadership have became more far-fetched. He told Republicans last week that he had had a round of phone calls with Angela Merkel, Shinzo Abe and other unnamed world leaders and insisted "so many of them, almost all of them, I would say all of them believe the US is leading the way."

If I were Donald Trump's speechwriter, this is the team talk I would suggest
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

It might be a problem contract wise (players, TV, etc), but couldn't next season be suspended and this season resumed instead of it, assuming fans can get back in the grounds, from 1 March next year. It's not looking likely that stadiums will be allowed fans in this calendar year.

Tweet from Ben Fogle this morning.

It's the Queens birthday next Tuesday. Let's throw her a surprise. At 9am 21st April, we are calling on the whole country to sing Happy Birthday from our windows and doorsteps. Let our song bring good cheer not just to Her Majesty but to the whole nation #singforthequeen

Set your alarm folks!  ;D

This was the best reply to it

Hi Ben, I'm a student at Norwich University, and I'd love to reference your tweet in my dissertation about guys who were breast fed into their mid 20s. Do I have your permission to reference the tweet?

From what I can see, Scouse (and all other clubs) don't currently have an income stream to cover these wages, and even if they did, these staff would not be allowed to work by the government.

This is for an indefinite period.

Furloughing them is the only sensible option.

There is nothing to see here.

Exactly, the scheme is open to every UK business

What profits would Liverpool be making yearly?
£29m last year, a lot less than global corporations availing of the scheme

£42m profit announced a few weeks ago
Ah right sorry, just had a quick google. A darn site less than a lot of companies using this scheme

Why shouldn't they avail of the scheme? They're topping up to 100% so the staff aren't losing out and the tories are footing the bill for the rest

Eh, because the ordinary tax payer will have to pay this money back. Liverpool and others can afford to pay staff without making the taxpayer do it.
It stinks.

So can loads of companies availing of this scheme, it doesn't just sit with football
