Very strong G.O.A.T vibes from Rory. Winning in this era against these players is incredible. We are blessed as a nation to have him representing us on the world stage.
tiger or jack might disagree as would 99.99% of golf fans .

He's not the greatest golfer... if not already he is 100% nailed on to be the greatest Irish sportsperson of all time

Huge loss for the PGA tour

12 out of last 24 major winners now with LIV

Bubba Watson (2), Phil Mickelson (6), Sergio Garcia (1), Patrick Reed (1), Charl Schwartzel (1), Dustin Johnson (2), Cam Smith (1), Brooks Koepka (4), Martin Kaymer (2), Graeme McDowell (1), Louis Oosthuizen (1), Henrik Stenson (1), Bryson DeChambeau (1)

Decent past winners, If, and its a big if, this LIV falls down are these players able to get back into the PGA again or have they banned them going forward?

Decent, aye, but the majority of them haven't really troubled the leaderboard of the last few majors. Plenty of one and done major winners in that list. You wouldn't expect the likes of McDowell, Kaymer, Schwartzel, Watson, Oosthuizen, Stenson or Garcia to be picking up any more than they already have... Though the likes of Smith, Koepka, Bryson and DJ could.

LIV will hinge on tournaments being eligible for OWGR points and also a TV deal.

Who controls the majors? Will the or can they be banned from playing?

All are different. And all have slightly different criteria for entry, but it works along the lines of:

Former champions (of this tournament) for 10 years (or life for Masters).
Recent champions of the other majors (last 5 years or so).
Top 25 in last year's iteration of this tournament.
Top 50 in the world rankings at a cut off date.
Winners of 5-20 feeder/prestige tournaments e.g all pga tour winners that year get to the pga championship, most recent winner of Players Championship gets an exemption for all.
A handful of recent amateur major winners.
A handful from word wide tours (not Masters)

I don't see any circumstance whereby someone who has earned an exemption will be barred from the field for a major.

But when you see the criteria above, it's going to become more and more difficult each year to gain an exemption, if committed to the LIV tour.  Once OWGR points start washing out in 12-24 months time, then staying in the top 25 for any majors they make will be everything to them.

Over the course of 3-5 years, they'll all be washed out bar a handful.

Unless there's dramatic change, of course

Can LIV survive? Just how long can the Saudi's keep pumping in the money?

Would you go watch an LIV event? I certainly would not.

By my count there is only 1 Top 10 player with LIV
Cam Smith
Another 3 in the Top 25:
Niemann, Ancer, and DJ
And within the Top 50:
Koepka, Bryson, Reed, Oosthuizen, Casey, Na, Kokrak, HV3

Might have missed a couple. But those without major titles to their name could miss out quite quickly on attendance at the majors.

Rahm doesent sound too happy with the new PGA tour schedule that Woods & McIlroy have brokered, could be worth watching there

He has already been offered the $200m and turned it down but doesent seem happy that they will have a minimum amount of tournaments to play, he has two very young kids so maybe that's a part of it.

Kids will certainly play a part in all our work/life decisions, professional sports men give up a serious amount of time to become the best they can be, if you want to spend more time with the family these lads could retire and have that..

Being offered that amount of money is more of a reason than anything I believe. Kids would be a good reason, not the main one

LIV tour will be 14 events plus the 4 majors so there isn't much difference. In fact full time asshole Patrick Reed will be playing more events mow he's on LIV than he would if he played just the PGA tour. Despite quoting playing less as the main reason for leaving.

Is 14 not a lot less than they play on the tour? Plus LIV golf is only 3 day instead of 4? I think this LIV golf is a load of shite. Surely tradition and the competition side of things will eventually win out!
