Majority Leader Senator Charles Schumer of New York will have a special resonance as he surveys the wreckage of his dreams of strongmanhood.

Poor Mike Pence must be steeling himself as he kisses Mother and heads out the door. He is probably going to be on the receiving end of some Trump rage tweets before dinner time. I can imagine he'll be sending a few "go f**k yourself" glances towards the likes of Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley for planting him in this no-win mess.

In fairness to Biden he's played this well since he's been in office. No fuss or giving out all the time about what Trump is doing just letting Trump set the GOP house on fire and watching them burn themselves down.

The final piece of the jigsaw appears to be what Pence will do today but it sounds like the options are extremely limited. How do the GOP turn this around? Especially when Trump has such a following and he's not going anywhere anytime soon? Will their be a split in the party?
