Sky deal hitting home now. Will be at game but recording and watching later I always enjoyed.

Paddy Power odds
Quote18:00   Mayo v Donegal
              5/6   15/2   13/10

Close enough.

I thought Donegal would be longer odds.

Few people on here bumming up neil Mcgee. A good player no doubt but I could play well surrounded by that Donegal defence. He won't be marking AOS on his own. He'll have 3 or 4 around him so they could well nullify the threat. For the record I think the winning of this could come from the sideline and I'm not sure if Gallagher can pull it off like mcguinness. Mayo have to be prepared to go with plan b if AOS is marked out of it. Fascinating contest

Sure we'll stick you in there instead of McGee if all it takes to look good is being surrounded by the other Donegal defenders.  ::)

Let's be real here, kerry are streets ahead of everyone else left. Unless mayo have something up their sleeves, they are far ahead of the dubs.  Claxton best days are behind him also.

Go back two years and the hype after Mayo hammered Donegal.

It's one match. Kildare lay down.

Go back six weeks after Donegal hammered Armagh. You are only as good as the hype after your last hammering.

Exactly

That was the mother and father of a hiding. Seriously hard to watch.

You won't win anything with those players DH. Outside Cribben, Kelly, Smith and Moolick the rest just gave up.

A horse that refuses a fence once will do it again. I would go as far to say some of those players shouldn't play county football for Kildare again.

We wouldn't be expecting to win anything with our current group of players. Most of what's there is the best we have and the standard of the club championship isn't too hectic. A few promising young players could come good in a few years but a lot of those lads went to the States this summer.

Ryan will get gate now but it's a psychiatrist rather than a manager that we need.

It's not a question of winning sometimes DH. Its how you lose sometimes can be as important as winning. A team that refuses to be beaten easily can evolve over time as better personnel become available.

team that throws in the towel will always throw in the towel regardless of whether better personnel becomes available or not. It becomes cultural. We did it in 2009 against Kerry and Gilroy gutted the team. You need to do the same.

Then again, look at Donegal.

Most of the All Ireland winning team were in the line-up the day Armagh hammered us in 2010. A lot were there in 2009 against Cork. Or 2007 against Monaghan in Omagh and Tyrone in Clones (nothing like Kildare today, but still severe beatings when we threw in the towel).

What was biggest winning margin in All Ireland quarter final, Tyrone by 19 against Fermanagh in 2003?

We've got hammerings from Cork and Mayo. Think they were 14 and 16 respectively (weren't Mayo 22 points up on us at one point?)

Looking at Kildare here (Kerry walking the ball into the net again and again as I type!), tactics aside, the fatigue factor has me worried. We were dead on our feet two years ago in similar circumstances to what we will face next week. Could be an issue again.

Why were the crowd jeering Donegal when they held the ball that time during the first half? Galway were the team 4 points down at the time with 15 men behind the ball.

Six subs are allowed now,  right?

Honestly, I am hoping we manage to stay in the game for 55 mins and then anything can happen.  One thing we cannot afford is to give Mayo a six point lead five minutes in like two years ago. And of course,  Mayo are coming in well rested, while we've had five mostly tough matches and one week to prepare.  It will be a seriously impressive feat if we manage to pull this off. I give us a 30/70 chance.

Very disappointing fade out. Was never a 10 point game but let Donegal get a run on them near the end. Midfield went out of it completely after half-time after looking comfortable up to then. That was the start of all the problems. Can't let any team have enough possession to bomb on top of their forward line especially one with Michael Murphy in there. Hanley is unfortunately not athletic enough these days to deal with the likes of him and O'Se. Couldn't even get off the ground for the 2nd goal. Shane Walsh a big loss this year as he's the one player who can consistently kick points from distance.

Don't think Kinsella did us any favours at all when the game was in the melting pot. Number of dubious decisions but sure what can you do.

No it wasn't. Second goal was game over and five or six points would have been a truer reflection of the overall game, with Donegal on top for probably two thirds.

Was worried for a bit in the second half there that we wouldn't make our dominance count, especially when we hit a couple of poor wides, including the pair from McBrearty. MacNiallais stepped up with a pair of brilliant points from out on the left wing, and those and that monster catch and kick from Murphy stretched us out a wee bit before McHugh got the goal.

Prior to that though, if Galway had scored that very cheap free called on McGee, I was fearful that we might have been in a wee bit of bother, but in fairness, from that point on, it was one way traffic.

Aiden o'shea v mcgee should be some battle. (Assuming 3 is the non injured one??)

Think donegal have quite a few gaps in defense this year. Mcgee at 4 would have been the man for o'connor too so he would be a big loss.

Neil is fit. Had a good game today too.

Eamon will be a miss if he doesn't make it, especially with Lacey doubtful.

Bigger concern would be McBrearty. Was he taken off because of those two poor misses in the second half, or because of an injury?

McFadden so frustrating but he came good today for the first time in 2 years. Can he get involved against Mayo? There's the problem

Much better in hf line these days. Let him pass and not shoot!

Harsh. He was excellent against Tyrone and played well against Derry. Today was a step up again, in fairness.

Turning point was the couple of minutes when Galway missed the nothing free Neil McGee gave away and then Donegal got level and went ahead.

Never a yellow for Murphy. Contact was with upper arm. Sice milked that yellow.

I agree  should've been black

Idiot.
