Actually on closer inspection there is actually very little between group 2 and 3 with no stand up team in group 2. Although I'd be pretty certain every time would wish to avoid Liverpool from pot 3

Can't get an English team in group stages.

Looks like Liverpool are for Pot 3 unless there's a serious turn around in the 2nd half here.

Seeding a bit silly when you consider Liverpool last years finalists now go into pot 3 while Benfica who lost all 6 group games go into pot 2.

It's cumulative but, so Liverpool doing eff all in the CL previously doesn't help.

The main reason Benfica are above Liverpool is that the ranking is based on the last 5 complete seasons including 2013/14 when Benfica made the Europa League final and Liverpool were not in Europa.

The ranking for the past 4 complete seasons plus the partial current season show Liverpool ahead of Benfica

Caoimhin Kelleher has signed a new contract with Liverpool.

The 19-year-old goalkeeper - who trains with the first team at Melwood and made three friendly appearances for the senior side over the summer - committed his future to the club on Thursday afternoon. "I'm very happy to sign a long deal with the club. I'm really enjoying my football here so I was happy to sign. Once the deal came in and I was happy, it was an easy decision really," Kelleher told Liverpoolfc.com at Melwood. "I've been doing the same things but getting better every day. Training at Melwood, you improve much more. Alisson and Simon and Kamil are here and we train to the highest level every day."...
