Considering spending the night of the League game somewhere among ye?

I was in it last year (my wife's a local).
Not a bad spot and if you hit lucky and there's a crowd in there you'll be made welcome. They love their football around there.

Boris Akunin  joins the long list of writers who have been declared an enemy of the state by the kremlin. Boris is not the greatest but is currently the most popular world wide by a country mile with his series based on the amazing adventurous of the fictional character Erast Fandorin. Boris has been openly critical since 2014 of russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.

an aside - what the article does not tell is that Boris is a Georgian, albeit one with russian citizenship.

Though the kremlin shouts loud about russia's great literary culture, most probably most of the famed writers such as Dostoevsky,Chekhov,Tolstoy, Gogol, would all be declared 'Enemy of the State'  by the current kremlin regime.

I absolutely love his stuff.

I much preferred their early stuff.

That one only really  works when  Ferris Bueller  "sings" it

 ;D

This performance kills it though.

Quote from: J70 on December 19, 2023, 05:48:08 PMThere's so many....

Christmas in Hollis - Run DMC
Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) - Darlene Love
I Believe in Father Christmas - Greg Lake
Happy Xmas (War is Over) - John Lennon
I Wish it could be Christmas Every Day - Wizzard
The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole
Let it Snow - Dean Martin
I Wish it was Christmas Today - Julian Casablancas (technically an SNL skit song, but he does a brilliant version)
Pogues/Kirsty McColl - Fairytale
Ray Charles - Walking in a winter wonderland

Darlene Love and Wizzard are great shouts.
I'd add Slade and Mud. The 70's were the pinnacle for Christmas songs.

Never, ever, ever trust an insurance company.

I'm sure Maddog appreciates the advice. Sitting as he has before his screen waiting on your reply, with baited breath, for just 15 years.

😁😁

Ziggy90 is usually quicker with a retort than that.  ;)

I haven't a clue what he's on about.

Quote from: tyrone08 on November 24, 2023, 06:17:10 AMI have always been fascinated when people argue against controlling borders. Almost immediately the word racist is used when anyone suggests improved controls

Majority of countries in the world have strict border controls and set criteria for entering.

Also when irish people immigrate they do integrate into the country and contribute heavily. Can that be said of all people immigrating to ireland ?

A sweeping, baseless generalisation, especially when in the next sentence you demand it of ALL immigrants.

Hardly baseless. Simple fact is when people emigrate to other countries they have to work as they dont get benefits or free housing. For whatever reason ireland offers free housing and benefits. Cut the housing and free benefits. Basic stuff really
absolutely.

Plus one.
