Quote from: SaffronSports on February 08, 2025, 05:12:20 PMDivision 1 same 10 teams as last year.

Bredagh coming up the only change in 2.

Gort and Davitts up to 3 with reserve teams from Dunloy, Ballycastle and Cushendall added too. No Na Magha.

In 4 Larne and St Galls Reserves gone but reserve teams from Glenarm, Naomh Eanna and Rossa added in.

I hate how they do this nonsense tbh. Meetings to decide what division clubs are in. Set a structure in place, 2 up 2 down and let teams find their level. Anything else makes it pointless. Teams scrapping for points to stay up but a board meeting actually is what decides their fate then you've teams winning league and championship and back in the same league. Pointless.

Might want to get your facts right here, chap.

Saw a list of the divisions and Larne definitely weren't on it. I would know a good lot of them and they're small in number and it's definitely not an easy place to promote hurling but it would be good if they can keep it going.
I seen that structure you mentioned and apparently it's just a proposal for now

Quote from: groundlie on February 10, 2025, 12:07:51 AMOffaly were very physical and their technical skills were outstanding. They were missing a few key players which is concerning as we appeared to be at full tilt.

I think we will learn a lot from today. Davy is getting to know his squad and transition from one management team to another will sometimes be littered with bumps on the road. We had several relatively inexperienced players at this level playing today so it's a good learning for them.

If this turns out to be a disappointing season for us then I hope Davy sticks with it. The last thing we need is chopping and changing after 5 good years for our senior team. Davys experience is vast and it will help us just like Darren did.

Early days.

Had we ?

Have to say that I think it's extremely unfair on declan mc closkey sticking him in corner back, when he's so used to 6 with loughgiel, the positions are so different and he got caught a few times today. I will say that's as poor as eoghan Campbell has played in years and he won't be that bad again. We try to play through the lines so many times yesterday with lads making the over lap run but we couldn't deal with the tackling of offaly at all, fumbling and getting turned over only to be completely open at the back as so many have moved forward in support. Offalys first goal was an example of this. It also seems away from home if it goes against us at all it socks the life completely out of us

Quote from: Saffrongael on January 25, 2024, 12:45:55 PMIs the talk of Niall McKenna transferring to Ballycastle just that ? Talk ?

same rumours floated about michael bradley to dunloy a few years ago? Modern day problems, back in my day it was the woman had to move lol

On the transfer market rumour mill I heard from a close friend from all saints one of their best prospects has upped sticks to the current senior champs

This is true, I think he hurled underage at a stage for Cushendall when Ballymena couldn't field, a great player should push for a starting place for Cushendall id imagine

Id imagine that nigel elliot and eoin campbell will switch?? I dont think that nigel is a good enough in the tackle out around the middle much better suited to wing forward

What is the story with fixtures for the league?why is it taking so long? Alot have counties played a round of league this past weekend and we havent even gotten the fixtures yet?I was under the impression that the fixtures commitee starts work on this very soon after last year is over and the relegation/ promotion is finalised?

Strong enough team heading to cushendall with limerick after all the fitzgibbon chat and with Na Par players gone, shows what riches linerick actually have and they have been underachieving for last 2 years I think. A decent showing against them would be great as I believe Linerick have a big year ahead of them

Why was the match moved out of Dunloy ???

Because MR2 kicked up about going north with no traveling expenses
But he always has money for chips regardless

Only fair that we Westies get a chance to see the lads! Sure come down and stay for some shopping also
Looking forward to sampling a supermacs😂

What local Cdall lads were in for it?i cant remember a time an outsider took them

Incase you weren't aware Eamon has a business and been living in Cushendall for a long time now.

Im aware of that but as far as hurling would go hed always be considered a loughgiel man in Cushendall id imagine, surprised phillip campbell didnt give it one more year after 2 years where it just didnt go right for Cushendall.
