Any update on what is happening with the senior leagues next year?

Looked at a stage Seamie was gonna be the better of the 2. But hard to argue that case now after what sean done for Fermanagh over the years while Seamie went to pot.

Some high scoring years and an All Star nomination too. Scored 1-8 v Dublin in 2015 All Ireland Quarter Final.

Sean done an interview last season where he said he'd like to do nets the way GAA has gone. I actually thought it would have been a good idea for Fermanagh as he was used as an impact sub at stages last year.

I see Coalisland advertising for Expressions of Interest as well.

Coalisland for me would be better off going internal. Would some of their older players coming to the end of their playing days not be interested in a player/manager role?

Surely it's time for Thornton to take that job on? Though not sure if their prospects are any better next year especially if Tiernan Quinn is now on the county squad and missing started games. He pulled them out of some holes last season.

The video's of the funeral are daft, Dozens of scramblers doing wheelies and spinning tyres etc. Pure tramps. I'd say the priest was saying the mass in pure disgust.

The GPO is a great idea and would work well and I'm sure all clubs would  love to have 1, although  I think to get the full benefit  you would need to have them employed  on a 3-5 year term to get everything set up and running properly. That's a big commitment for most clubs given the risk of the GPO quitting a year/18 months into it, especially  if the person has no connection /affinity to the club, and you might have nothing to show for it. Obviously St Brigids can afford it and good luck to them, unfortunately I don't think most clubs can afford to go down this route at this time.

Slaughtneil committed 100K over 3 years, 33k per year. This was covered by 2 main sponsors. Better value for a duel club as it'll be benefiting more codes.

If it's affordable for a club, i think it's a great model for a club, if you've got the right man in & not someone who see's it as a handy job

Costs to run a club now are shocking without new developments. To cut and maintain the pitches every year, fertaliser and sand is a small fortune!

He's the only GPO I know of and certainly seems the way to go instead of throwing thousands at outside managers every year, get a good club man who has been there and done it and is passionate about the club, not every club has a person as successful as McKaigue of course
