For a lot of the Armagh games they will be hitting capacity restrictions so would be charging anyhow.

I don't think it'll put many people off.

It's £5 for a child. I only go to a few league games a year so not too bad.

When you add in travel, dinner etc. a £5 isn't going to break people in fairness.

Just my honest opinion.

Won't break anyone but it was a grand tradition.
Man and son going to game, gather a few more buicíns (some whose parents had no interest)and in with them all.
Could earn the GAA a few "customers" for life instead of Sky Sports getting them.
It's not as if all the €5s will make the GAA much money either.

Jesus that's poor form, how long till clubs are charging wee ones into games?

The GAA has retained its adult ticket pricing structure from last year having increased from 2023 this past season. Prices remain unchanged at €20 for adults and €15 for senior citizens and students for Division 1 and 2 football and Division 1A and 1B hurling fixtures.

For this month only, supporters can avail of an early bird offer of a €5 discount on adult tickets for the opening round of the leagues at the end of January.

League bundles are also available. Seven Allianz Football League matches are priced at €100 and €65 for four.
mayo for sam-don't ask me what year! :-)

You have it there. I know fathers who bring half a team of young lads to home matches. This is in turn harvesting GAA supporters of the future.

For me it always said the GAA was of the people and letting under 16's in free was part of the good will encompassed by the Amateur ethos of the intercounty player.

Similar to a point I've made on the GAAGO discussion a while back, the GAA regularly want to ride 2 horses, the aren't we brilliant amateurs and we truly value our volunteers & members,  but here's another price gouge to suck up.

Won't affect me until the grandkids come along now tho. Still, shows the direction we always seem to be heading as an organisation

I seem to recall nearly all the home Armagh games last year had a 5 euro charge for kids. I've a vague memory of the 1st one maybe having free entry for kids, but it certainly wasnt the norm.

Sure Armagh are charging for kids left right and centre during the club championship ffs.  It's a complete joke.  I was even at the under 14 championship final and it was 3 quid for a child. Like, what's that about. I know it's a minimal amount, but what's the need for that when the ground is 3/4 empty.

Armagh caused this, as they have such a big crowd. Their home games (Tyrone, Mayo, Dublin and even Derry) will have a right crowd, and I'd say the Galway, Donegal and Kerry games away will not be empty either, although Pearse stadium has a lot of space.
