Quote from: bennydorano on December 11, 2024, 04:09:37 PMWas at Armagh match 1.10 to 1.4. Enniskillen an extremely limited side that came to frustrate Armagh and hope for the best up front pretty much. Their goal came from a point effort that hit a post and was poked home, tho tbf Armagh's goal was a fluke too.  Man marked Armagh's main man too. It was a very poor game to watch.

Who would Armagh's main man be? Any notable players at St Ronans or St Pauls coming through?

I assume some of the CE championship winning side from last year.  The McCooes.  Wilson from the Peters is pretty handy too.

SW Donegal beat St Pats Cavan today, 1.15 to 1.9. Heard boys saying they are a fine team that will only get better as the competition progresses (as they are an amalgamation team with a strong panel).

Quote from: marty34 on December 11, 2024, 05:37:12 PMI see that Mac Rory knock out game between St. Colman's and St. Ronan's Lurgan is being played this Friday in Darver?

Is that Darver, as in Louth GAA?

Yes, I saw this posted on socials.  Absolutely no idea why.

Yeah, it caught my eye.

A bit strange.

I don't like amalgamations in competitions like this.

There's a lot of teams in the MacRory Cu nowadays.

Thought Dungannon would have given a better account this year, albeit a year early for most.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

No shame in losing to that M'felt side. Some seriously talented players in their team.

Favourites for the whole thing I believe.

Damien Diver, who is the county coaching officer, put it together in the hopes of improving underage talent and giving lads more high profile exposure, including for university scholarships. Part of his rationale is that young lads in the north often bypass their local schools to attend the big traditional football schools (no idea how true this is). He's also talking about expanding it to other parts of the county.

Magherafelt very strong, so probably wouldn't have mattered.  But Dungannon were poor enough throughout as they were fortunate enough not to finish bottom of their 4 team group.
Next year should suit them better as more than half their starting team this year is eligible again next year.

MacRory is County standard football, the more people exposed to it the better, no brainer

Got out of jail big time. But will be stronger after Christmas when their Rannafast players are fully available. Few of them came on against Bessbrook and only for them they could have been beat.
