Great effort from Laois. Thought they were gonna sneak it there at the end.
What a brilliant goal that was.

Delighted Down won.

BUT

If teams can't even show some semblance of happiness after winning the Tailteann, then the competition is doomed.

Doomed, I tell ya.

Quote from: Turf on July 13, 2024, 04:27:34 PMThat should be it for Down. Was a closer game than many expected. Wasn't very impressed with Down at all or how they play the game, but they won the game so I suppose how you win doesn't matter.
Laois were a Div 4 team this year and it showed, a lot of wrong options taken when they had the ball.

Down have lost so many finals in this last while. Inevitably this would be a nervous game for us. Got over the line, that's all that matters.

Down 0-14 from 24 shots.  Laois 2-6 from 15 shots.

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Down got over the line and that's all that matters. Gifted Laois 1.01 in first half. Onwards and upwards hopefully.
Laois are a diff team to last year. A lot of positives to build on. Bar a goal line clearance they nearly got it at the death.
