Milltown Row2

Quote from: RedHand88 on November 29, 2024, 08:10:39 AMI've watched the first two seasons of yellowstone in a fortnight and I am absolutely loving it. Great show. Realistic characters you can have empathy for (Kayce, Jamie, Beth, Jimmy).
I had already watched the prequels 1883 and 1923 before this, liked them too.
I want to live in Montana.

You wouldn't want to live in it after watching the Netflix series, I am a Killer, all in Montana, Billings that last series
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

Quote from: gallsman on November 29, 2024, 07:47:14 AMFinally started watching Yellowstone. My word, it's complete and utter trash. The characters, the script, the dialogue. Awful. It's Sons of Anarchy (which at least started out quite well) on horses. And to think Taylor Sheridan wrote Sicario. Good grief.

Top notch production and scenery though

I found it a bit silly and never finished the first season. Will maybe go back to it at some stage.

Oh it's absolutely silly. I wouldn't say it's unenjoyable, but it's undeniably terrible. I'd say I'll struggle to get through the lot of it.

I have kinda enjoyed it, it gets a bit repetitive and the Beth character is a bit ridiculous. Scenery is great though
Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

It's a soap with a big budget and great locations. I found it really enjoyable - drags a wee bit in later seasons and there are some silly storylines but I've stuck with it up to the latest episode this week.

Yeah me too - though this season has gone really silly I think.

That's it summed up.

I could watch the cowboys dancing to a local band in front of a hilly Montana backdrop for hours on end.

But the plot is paper thin and like all soap operas, ran out of mileage long ago.

And the characters are utterly daft too. With the exception of Rip, who's an utterly enthralling mix of hero and anti-hero, they are an inconsistent and abhorrent mess of motivations, that you'd only expect in a soap. Jamie might be the single worst piece of casting in history.

Yet I'd continue to watch it forever for those backdrops.

gallsman

Yeah I'd agree with all that. "Forever" might be pushing it though ;D

I'm a few episodes into Season 2. Body count per episode has dropped at least.

Been watching Goliath, reallyliked S1, S2 was meh, S3 went a bit Fargo in a good way, half way through S4 which is pretty good at the mid way point.

bennydorano

I watch Yellowstone for the Mahon's way relaxtion vibes as well.

S2 gets very weird, very quickly.
