Quote from: Hound on September 05, 2024, 08:42:56 AMWatched the three seasons of The Bear recently:
Season 1: 7/10 - good
Season 2: 10/10 - one of the best seasons of a series I have ever seen
Season 3: 7/10 - two of the main characters just became boring. Still some great characters, and looking forward to the next season.

I'm towards the end of season 2 of Bosch Legacy. The original Bosch series was decent, but this is a big step up.

Loved The Bear, sorted it over a fortnight during Summer. What two characters do you mean? Main guy and?
We binged so one series fell into a other but yes series 2 the best from memory. Fantastic tunes too. Cant wait to rewatch tbh
The main girl chef. She went from being a super character in S2 to being just dull in my view.
Also I couldn't shake the feeling that they were on a cost cutting exercise during S3. A number of episodes where most of the cast didn't appear and just a couple dominated. A lot of flashbacks of stuff we'd already seen, S3 E1 a complete waste of half an hour. But still some fantastic episodes, Jamie Lee is always super, the Cousin became the absolute star of the show (along with the dopey brothers!) and the episode showing how the oul wan chef joined the restaurant was super.

I'm probably being over critical because I immediately jumped from the awesome S2 to the 'only' good S3.

I think most of that's fair enough tbh, your recall is superior to mine. Jamie Lee superb. Definitely peaked half way through my binge while still being v good. Looking forward to the next series and also for when I decide to rewatch

Would agree with that review. Def peaked in season 2 but had some of the best TV I've seen in ages.
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either

The Bear is well worth watching but s3 a big dip from the first two. 7 out of 10 generous. Some individual episodes were great but the overall plot went nowhere. Hopefully it hasn't ran out of steam and they can get or afford the full cast for next series.

Captain Scarlet

Anyone watch Interview with a Vampire series on BBC?
Find it excellent but there was a big gap so many viewers may have dropped...

Shogun is top so far fir ne in 2024.
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

Milltown Row2

Lost is on Netflix now, so stuck it on for some nostalgia (its over 14 years now) and was hooked and back binging on it,  Kate was (is) the business
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

on s3 now myself, which I think is xlose enough to where I finished up watching 10 plus years ago... hopefully make it through all 6

Jell 0 Biafra

There's a weird parallel universe subplot that shows up around then that is like watching an 80s soap opera. It's tough going.

nrico2006

Lost was something else, so many great sub plots going in all directions.
'To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal, light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle.'

Milltown Row2

Yeah I think basically like a lot of great shows it has a dip due to the fact that the producers want it to last longer!

This in turn creates a crap series, but it definitely resolves itself.. I think ;D

Lost changed my viewing habits forever.

Now, if I get an early sense that the writers don't have an end in place I tune out.

The last series of Lost was an utter abomination.

Yeah, it got so silly. Loads of Red Herring story-lines that had no relevance, meaning, answers. I had to call it quits midway.
It soon became apparent I couldn't be wasting my time with that.

I'm still angry for even giving it that amount of time.

imtommygunn

People still watching lost - madness!!

Too much toing and froing I stayed to end for conclusion but gave up trying to understand a couple of series earlier lol. Some wore it as a badge of honor to be understanding it all, good luck with that

Start of S4 is a bit confusing so far, doubt I'll be paying enough attention to follow it properly.

I've watched House, Vikings and Monk recently again, tried walking dead but failed to watch the full series again.
