GAA Discussion / Re: NFL Division 1 2025

The new rules leaves me not having a clue what to think here (some would say sure there's no change there  :P     )

Home games for Armagh will be massive.

One thing i'll be interested to see, is the goalkeeping situation.  Does Blaine Hughes lose out to Ethan, to allow him to be the extra man in attack? Hughes was outstanding last year and I dont want to detract from that. The rule changes have just presented an opportunity that Geezer may try to exploit, and I think Ethan might suit that better.

Quote from: jcpen on January 16, 2025, 05:51:09 AMAnother win for Newcastle last night. They are flying. Are they in the title race?

I saw Shearer last night say that they are, when the reality is that they arent.  They are flying though and would definitely fancy another go at Champions League football next year.

Social media platforms have an awful lot to answer for. This whole episode is completely indicative of society these days and the generation of balloons that are running about. makes ye despair

I think the toe has been dipped in that county rightly

Quote from: Brendan on January 14, 2025, 08:40:58 PMHow long till Liverpool rightfully take the title of the premier leagues biggest bottlers from Spurs?
They've led 6 times at Xmas and closed the deal once.

Christmas is half way through the season. Leading the league with a few games to go or having a big lead and losing it would be bottling. Those few seasons when they finished second behind city with 90+ points can hardly be labelled as bottling it. The only time I can think where Liverpool Bottled it was 13/14 when they had it in their hands with 3 games to go. But in fairness that season Arsenal and Chelsea were top majority of the season but Liverpool won something like 11 games in a row to take over.

Funny thing is the same people claiming it would be a bottle job if Liverpool don't win it are the same that were claiming they wouldn't even finish top 4 this season with Klopp leaving. As for the Spurs claim, I don't remember Spurs ever bottling a league title but understand the "Spursy" tag where they can beat a top team but lose to an underdog.

Seems to be United and Arsenal fans calling Liverpool Bottlers. I can't blame them as for United the only thing they have over Liverpool is the 1 more league title. And as for Arsenal it must be sickening seeing their best team in 20 years with nothing but an FA cup.

Liverpool were the only team to win a league during City's dominance over the last 7 or 8 years. Liverpool have won every single trophy over the last 5 years yet there's idiots like yourselfs trying to make a claim for them being the biggest bottlers 😂. Concentrate on your own clubs rather than the most successful football club in the country.

Spurs ended up 3rd in a 2 horse race when they had their chance down the stretch with Leicester.

Quote from: Norm-Peterson on January 09, 2025, 11:05:35 PMI see that assault was on one of the players girlfriends. Are these wags getting free trips abroad too? Another reason why I won't be giving any more money to the GAA. The thought of paying players holidays is bad enough but the girlfriends? Even if you just give money to your local club you are probably still funding holidays.
Alleged assault.  The clubs were asked to part with £2k to assist with funding the holiday which thought was poor form from the Co Board.
I'd have no problem giving money towards a holiday. Some of those lads have slogged for a decade or more for very little reward and after the year we had last year a holiday is the least they deserve. WAG's shouldn't be going though imo.
Lets be honest. These players with full time jobs and full time training put a lot of pressure on the women folk at home.  They couldnt do what they do for the county without them.  Now I realise that there are scales to this support, from a young lad living at home with parents who has a girlfriend to the lads married with a rake of kids. For me I think the family support deserve a bit of recognition following a success like this and have no problem with that being applied across the panel.

I loved it and funny as feck at stages as well.

Why only the 7 eps? Finished 7 last night and was expecting the 'play next episode' thing to pop up...gutted when it didn't.

Yeah it was a strange place to end it too.

Strange time to sack him, with a game in a few hours time.

Give it Moyseh until end of season  ;D

I see Givan's decision and of course nothing would surprise you with the DUP.

I'm naive on a lot of this, but if the school wants to act like an integrated school I assume that it can do so anyway? Or is there restrictions based on funding and curriculum?

And the rumour was that West Ham considered Amorim in the summer but decided against him.

Potter will do ok there I'd say.

Dyche has to be on his last legs too. Although, they've Villa at home in the league next and Villa do love to hand out favours to out of form teams, or goals to people who haven't scored in months.

The game started out quite poorly but I thought in the end there was some quality on show.  McGeehin, in goals, dealt with some very tricky situations.

Cush looks to be a classy footballer.

Strong enough UU side alright.
