She's the Democrats gift that keeps on giving

"The world is going to end in 12 years if we don't address climate change" Ocasio-Cortez says

So as well as being a financial genius she is a scientist as well. and a waitress.

Certainly no end to her talents.

Here's the actual quote without conservative selective editing:

"Millennials and Gen Z and all these folks that come after us are looking up, and we're like, 'The world is going to end in 12 years if we don't address climate change, and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?'"

Amazing what you can do when you truncate half the sentence.

In any case, what have you got against waitresses? Would you prefer it if only oil executives and hedge fund managers were elected to public office, you degenerate conservative troll?

This is Marie Antoinette-esque. Ross's net worth in 2017 was €700 million. A government for the people...yeah right.

Wilbur Ross, Trump's millionaire Commerce Secretary, says he doesn't understand why federal workers are going to food banks during government shutdown

It's important to remember Trump's contract with the MAGAs. Only Trump can root for them against the elites. People are so  stupid

Is it still free in Ireland?

The education is 100% free. However, the mandatory student contribution for student services and examinations is up to €3,000.

We are nothing if not an imaginative people.

Perhaps, but its about the same as you'd pay in tuition fees at the likes of UCD 25-30 years ago. Whatever the label, that's not a bad rate of inflation.

You should compare the 3K euros to what you have to pay for college in the states!

My wife is a federal worker (who has been working all through). We've had to get a loan.

You think Trump is going to cover the interest?

Forbes downgraded Wilbur Ross' net work from $2.9 billion to $700 million back in 2017 so he knows what it is like to suffer.

Though I must say that I am shocked that someone who has vastly overstated his net worth would find a place in the Trump cabinet.

I'm not opposed to the 70% tax rate but is that not just a token gesture?

How much revenue would be generated that could then be redistributed to those away the bottom?

I believe that income inequality should be addressed by pulling up the people at the bottom rather than pulling down those at the top

There are huge subsections of the population who are trapped in an unending cycle of poverty, crime, drugs and general dysfunction. Putting programs together to really help those people out of that cycle is what's needed.

If only conservatives would stop blocking such programs at every turn. You people think that lifting people out of poverty is immoral.

if only Democrats would stopp ripping off these programs by giving all their third cousins "do nothing" jobs with massive pensions and benefits that divert the miney from where it should be going

Nothing against waitresses but might be better that someone who actually has some sort of track record is leading your country.

Track record in what? Hiring contractors to do work and then refusing to pay them afterwards? Having a casino go bankrupt? Setting up business after business and watching them go bankrupt? Getting p1ssed on by a hooker in a Moscow hotel room? Going through two or three marriages? Making sexually suggestive statements about your own daughter on live TV?
