West Ham hardly changing hands again?

No real noises of it been Liverpool. They have also appointed a new CEO/MD to take parrys place and that would prob not have happened if new owners where likely. Unless it was there choice of course  ;)  :o

is this not only a temporary position though?!

How will the Season tickets work for a game in London? Is this excluded from the scheme or will Down folk be billed for one?

Think that if you have one you will be billed for a ticket!!

Fernando Torres has pledged his long-term future to Liverpool.

The 25-year-old Spain striker had been touted as a target for Manchester United once Cristiano Ronaldo completes his £80m move to Real Madrid.

But Torres said: "I'm very happy with my contract and wouldn't leave just to earn a little more somewhere else where I wouldn't be that happy.

"To want any more would be greedy and that is not me. As long as Liverpool want me, I will stay."

Torres, in South Africa with the Spain squad for the Confederations Cup, added: "Winning the European Championship with Spain gave me a taste of what winning at the top level was like and once you've had a taste of success it becomes an addiction."

He recently signed improved terms on his current contract which runs until 2013, with the option for a further year at the end of that deal.

Torres added: "A lot of players committed themselves to Liverpool this summer with new contracts and players don't do that unless they think they can have their ambitions met.

"There is a lot of belief at the club and a lot of trust in the manager. I sincerely believe I will win the Premier League and the Champions League here. The winning tradition is very clear at Liverpool. I want to be involved in a little piece of their history."

The Liverpool future of Torres' team-mates Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano are not as clear as they continue to be linked with moves away from Anfield.

Alonso is a long-time target for Real Madrid, and when asked in South Africa whether he would be disappointed to still be at Liverpool next season, he replied: "I cannot answer that. I have already said everything."

It is understood Alonso's relationship with Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez became strained last summer after he tried to sell him to fund his failed bid to sign then Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry.

Mascherano, meanwhile, has emerged as a potential target for Champions League winners Barcelona.

Anyone on here encouraging players to move to the club down the road would be safer following local soccer.
Players lookin for a higher standard of football can work to play for their county.

But in relation to the original argument, McComisky is already playing for his county, so this would be the highest standar available to him!

Liverpool director Moores resigns

Former Liverpool chairman David Moores has resigned from the board of directors, two years after selling his majority stake in the Anfield club.

Moores, who accepted George Gillett's and Tom Hicks' takeover plans in March 2007, has since spoken of his dismay at how the American duo have run the club.

His resignation follows the departure of chief executive Rick Parry, who quit the club earlier this summer.

Moores will retain his role as an honorary life president.

Gillett and Hicks have become increasingly unpopular amongst the club's fans, who are frustrated by delays over the construction of a new stadium and the use of the club's profits to finance the American pair's £350m loan behind their takeover.

Moores came under criticism in 2004 for his handling of the takeover but received strong backing at the time from club captain Steven Gerrard.

The Liverpool and England midfielder said Moores was "one of the main reasons I stayed at Liverpool" during the period he was being courted by Chelsea.
