Sligo got terrible support all year, barely 1000 at our promotion game against Roscommon at home on a beautiful day. Hugely outnumbered at the u21 final by Roscommon. It will be interesting to see the Sligo Support on Saturday....

I think it will be a small crowd all round in Sligo. 5pm Saturday + live TV + league final defeat fresh in the memory will mean a smaller than usual Mayo crowd travelling up. Doubt it will make 10k altogether which is a very small attendance for a championship match on Irish soil involving Mayo.

Leinster Council imo will get a nasty surprise at the Dn v Wx game shortly. From my own family of 6 diehards not one is going in and likewise my 3 mates. Very few in club going also acc to club secretary.
Feeling here in Dublin that the LSFC is vey much a beaten docket and that Dublin need to be thrown into the maelstrom of the qualifiers to test their mettle (if any).

Would serve them right for tryin to chase the dollar and not playing the game in Wexford Park. It would been a guaranteed full house, the dubs would have got a handy day out in the sunny southeast, and the atmosphere would have been electric. Half full croke park me ass.

Poor crowds in Leinster seem to be the order of the day so far.
5 games totalling about 29000 !!!
Populations of the counties involved total about 900,000. About  A 3% turn out.
If that happened in Connacht you'd have had 5000 at Sligo/Mayowestros and would only get 2500 at Ros/Leitrim.
Time for the Leinster Council to start reviewing their way of doing things and trying to entice a few paying customers out of their armchairs?
