QuoteLiam O'Malley is not good enough to play in our sub-standard defence

What height is O'Malley ?

In relation to the "sub-standard" defense I think you have hit the nail on the head. It's well over a year now that posters on this board have been giving out about our defense. We have conceded 10 goals and 62 points in the league so far. That's not even connaught championship standard never mind AI.

The BJP experiment went on last year for too long and the Kilcullen experiment didn't last long even. Its hard to understand how we have never replaced Forde or Cahill in full back considering the pick available. We were in trouble against Leitrim last year in the FB line.

In saying that the time for further experimentation is prob over and Cuniffe, Conroy and Boyle will be throw in at the deep in come June.

QuoteOur season really begins and ends with the Connacht Championship. Negative I know but a Connacht title and the bedding of some of the young lads is a realistic aim. Achieve that and we can set the bar higher.

That is probably the extent of what our ambition should be, i'm just hoping that we can do a 2004 over again ...... without Kerry in the final this time.

Tommy Carr was on at luchtime in Maughtans defense.

One credit you have to give JM is that he is good at the spindoctoring. Tommy reckoned that the Ross fans were OTT at the weekend and that the County Board and the Players were fully behind JM.

It must have been the 8 players that showed up for training last week that he was referring too?

At the End of the day its always easy to blame the Manager and in particular when he is from your neighbouring county and one that has had midly greater success.

The writing had to be on the wall when the likes of Frankie was brought back into the squad.

QuoteAmazing what a team can do when they off load a donkey of a manager. Love to see the Rossies do the same, what do you think Mannix?

Joyce scored a sublime goal yesterday - still fantastic footballers in Galway.

Jaysus its still March, I wouldn't speak too soon.

8 scores from play for Galway yeasterday isn't much to write home about.

In saying that though the "Roscommon GAA Customers" are probably due thier biennial change of manager though.

Quotealso can anyone shed any light on the car spaces marked around the pitch - is St. Conleth's Park used as a carpark midweek?

I got so bored during the game that i noticed that also. They appear to be reserved places. Maybe Geezer managed to get the GPA players free carparking in Newbridge so the WAGS can do thier mid-week shopping or they could be a legacy of the Micko era and were reserved for his cars ?

The way Mayo are leaking goals in the league and Galway are scoring them I'd be very worried about this game.

I note some posters give player ratings out of 10 after each game. My ratings for the Mayo Management v Kerry is 10/10 and v Kildare 10/10.

I'm sure Johnno had his spies in Salthill yesterday and will have some plan worked our for this one so it makes for an interesting confrontation.

Quote"At the end of the day it was a major achievement. Everyone had a winners medal and we were extremely proud."
Brian Mullins, Dublin Player

When / What year did Mullins state that? I'm sure it was soon after the 83 final ? Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't Mullins donate his 83 AI medal to charity, i think i remember watching some RTE telethon thing about 15 years ago and he said he was donating the medal for a charity auction cause he was ashamed of it ?

Any Dubs clarify if my memory is coorect and if so i wonder where the medal is now?

History repeating itself here.

Is this new breed of Dub trying to emulate the team of 25 years ago?
