GAA Discussion / Armagh, an even bigger mess

Holy God,the sooner that robot McGeeney does the decent thing and buggers off, the better. A complete waste of space

General discussion / Irish groups that never made it big

In Tua Nua. Great group. They deserved more success than they got. Some great footage of them from Self Aid in 1985 on YouTube. Pearl of Dreams in particular is as good a tune as you’d hear anywhere in my opinion

Those shots from Celtic Park on TG4 showing Lough Foyle are fantastic. Other lovely shots are Killarney with Magillycuddy Reeks in the background and Armagh Athletic Grounds with the 2 Cathedrals

General discussion / Kingspan
« on: December 22, 2021, 12:42:27 AM »
I see Michael Gove has written to Ulster Rugby asking them to reconsider their relationship with Kingspan in light of their alleged role in the Grenfell fire. I think it’s fair to say that some of the directors, with their ‘alpha male’ attitude to safety standards, don’t appear to have acquitted themselves too well, but given the suggestion that their products accounted for only 5% of the insulation in the tower block and were  allegedly used without their knowledge and, most importantly, that the inquiry is still ongoing, are they being lined up to be the scapegoat for someone else’s failures?

General discussion / Apple Watch
« on: January 13, 2019, 08:01:57 PM »
The screen on my Apple Watch which is just over a year old has started to ‘perish’ around the edges. Does anyone know if this is a common fault and more importantly are there repair options other than paying a couple of hundred quid to Apple?

Staying in this God Forsaken kip tonight. Wife and I have walked for over an hour, not a chip shop to be found. What sort of hole is this place

General discussion / Flag and National Anthem for a United Ireland
« on: August 06, 2018, 10:49:20 PM »
This discussion started on the Irish Hockey thread but that’s not the right place for it. Question is what colour flag and national anthem might be acceptable for all citizens of a United Ireland?

General discussion / Smart watch/Fitness tracker

My Pebble Time Round has given up the ghost and I'm looking for a replacement, something round, not too thick, that looks like a proper watch rather than a tacograph, which will give me social media, text notifications and track my steps. I'm currently doing a 5 mile walk about 5 times a week. Any suggestions?

GAA Discussion / Croke Park

Stadium is a joke. First 20 rows in Hogan, dread to think what Cusack and Davin are like, are open to the elements yet cost the same price as those under cover. Catering a disgrace, flat beer, instant coffee and hugely overpriced
