How come we playing U-20 men on Sunday before championship on Wednesday night. You can't beat stupid. D Cassidy must be playing poor in training, he's still not on.

Thought the rule regarding those lads who have played senior football were ineligible for U20 was still in place??

Regarding Cassidy, I'd assume that RG is giving the starting spots to the lads who have made appearances off the bench this season. I'm sure he still get some game time on Sunday.

Is there any schedule for the round robin games this year, if one wanted to go on holiday?
The GAA website seems silent on the matter, although it does have the quarter-finals.

Run down of all 2023 C'ship fixtures etc

I expected well over 100 rebels from the talk all week. We could probably name the 29 as there seemed to be that many publicly saying they would go against it!
Total embarrassment for the DUP and ERG (how many members do they actually have in reality?!)

8 DUP, Johnson, Truss, JRM and Patel, all stated they were voting against.

On GMU this morning, they'd a fella from the ERG on saying that they had "dozens of members", and they wouldn't recommend voting for the Framework, however all members had a free choice on what way to vote.

So it looks like most of those members decided to vote for the framework.

Is it true that the dual players in clubs will have something like 35/40 games between league and championship this year in the space of 3/4 months? Surely that's too much for amatuer players no?

Well there are 13 league games in the football & guaranteed 6 championship group stage games (potential for 3 more- QF/SF & Final) so there's potential for 22 football games. Wouldn't be sure of the furling formats at all.

Hurling has an early season league, an actual league and then group stages for championship which then decides if you're senior, intermediate or junior. Roughly 16/17 games before knockout in championship I think.
Seems it will be Sunday, Wednesday Sunday for the dual players basically every week

sounds brilliant, much better than training.

Don't get me wrong, matches are exactly what everyone wants. For example someone from slaughtneil who starts for both codes and isn't on either county panel. He will be expected to play Sunday Wednesday Sunday , while also doing the gym work needed and attending football and hurling training during the week, especially in the run up to championship

If they're playing Sunday, Wednesday, Sunday there will be v few training sessions/gym work happening. And any of those would only have to be light, low impact training, especially if they have that many games. Most of the hard work will be done by the time the league starts.

Steward free to play again.

"Having reviewed all the evidence, the Committee decided that: (i) head contact with an opposing player had occurred; (ii) there had been an act of foul play in breach of Law 9.11 in that the Player had been reckless in his actions and in his upright positioning as he approached and came into highly dangerous contact with the other player; and (iii) there were sufficient mitigating factors including the late change in the dynamics and positioning of the opposing player which should have resulted in the issue of a yellow card rather than a red card."

Serious performances by Omagh in the semi and final...winning by 18 and 17 points respectively. Almost a pity it was so one sided as the atmosphere never really got going in Croker. Great achievement for my own club having 3 players on the 15 one being the captain with 2-5 from play and another being man of the match.

Any one of 4 or 5 schools in Ulster could have made a great cracking at winning today. Standard very high across the province this year.

Surely a good few inter county players come from that side. Serious talents with serious attitudes

Doubt it. Schools football hugely over rated. Be doing well to get 5/6 top club players from any school side. Hogan winners or not!
From the St Colmans Newry side that won 2 hogans in 10 and 11 AFAIK Caolan Mooney, Jerome and Ryan Johnston, Niall McParland, Niall Donnelly, Donal O'Hare and Ross McGarry. There were others on that team that played for Armagh so I'm not sure if any of them went on to play at senior level with Armagh. Honourable mention to Shay McCartan who went on to play professional soccer across the water

How many of them would you call established county players? I wouldn't say one! And that includes Mooney. Maghera had numerous sides that won and reached Hogan finals over 3 or 4 years. Conor Glass and Shane McGuigan the only two to really come through to play at a high level.

Why change the argument to 'established' county players?

From those Maghera teams, would you just call Niall Toner, Padraig Cassidy, Oisin McWilliams, Shea Downey and Paul McNeill county players, but not 'established' county players?

You forgot McKaigue, McClosey, D Cassidy. McKindless, E Bradley, Lynch all played a couple of MacRory campaigns, some won it

Didn't forget, was just highlighting the other Derry players from those Maghera teams referenced by the previous poster.

Could also point out that McCloskey, Lynch, Cassidy, McEvoy, O'Donnell have all come through on the back of Convent victories in the last 7/8 years.

Or those Rossa players listed have come through based on the brilliant underage work at the club.

That's another different argument.

It'd be easy to say the same about every single school/colleges team in Ireland.

Another afternoon of Murray and his super box kicks again ::)
Always seems to be plenty of hate for Murrays box kicks, but surely this is a tactic approved by management or am I missing something?

It's not that he's doing it, it's how poor they are.
No chance of contesting any of them.
