Hi everyone,

I'm Stephen's wife, Christiane.  I just wanted to say, thank you for all the thoughts, prayers and good memories you've shared.  This has been an extremely tough time for me and for our two boys.

I know that Stephen would have been touched and frankly, proud at the way he's been remembered.  He loved the GAA, he loved Armagh football and he loved the banter on this forum.

Thank you all.

Was it working ok previous to this or did it do this from when you installed it?

It sounds to me as if it was a dodgy download, maybe try getting it again and try reinstalling it.  If you could give the exact error it would be helpful

When you say it hasn't been working properly, what do you mean exactly?

Draughts was our main game growing up
Scrabble was ours, we would have played till the wee hours once the board came out
It wouldn't last hours in our house. Fits of bad temper, wrecking the board, name calling, thumping and kicking and my ma swearing the game was never seeing the light of day again was generally how things ended.

Good times.
;D

We would have played by the light of a stove, or candles or an oul gas lamp and written all the scores on the inside of the box to keep them for posterity!

I'm with BT, on the 8 meg package. They tell me I can only get 5 meg from the line, but in reality only getting 1.5 meg on a good day.

Ziggy this is what nags me about the whole broadband thing. I am paying the same money for 1.5MB as someone who can get 20MB, my neighbour who is only a mile closer to the exchange can get 5MB. It is ridiculous that they can get away with this
You should have read the small print.  They can't guarantee speeds for people living further away from their exchanges.  I have a cable connection and would never dream of going to ADSL for that reason

nrico, I used to be of the opinion that anyone could be rehabilitated if they wanted to.  These days, I tend to agree with you.  f**k rehabilitation, let them rot in jail.  I only mentioned it as I was thinking of the likes of Jimmy Boyle.  The way I envisage it, it would take a hell of a lot of convincing to let them out of jail, even after serving a 30 year sentence

Zap, need to go to bed here so I will make this very brief.  If I don't succeed in getting my point across, I will try again tomorrow.

Stormont is funded by the British state, as is Westminster.  Royal assent is needed for any legislation from either.  This is a genuine question by the way.  I think the whole issue of abstentionism is an absolute nonsense.  If they can sit in Stormont they could serve the people who elected them better by taking their seats, arguing for the needs of their constituents, arguing for funding for capital projects etc.  By choosing not to take their seats they are making a mockery of parliamentary democracy.  They say they believe in it, well it's time to practice what they supposedly believe in.

Please.  Spare me the official line.  I know it all too well.

Is this a trick question?  Have you got a point?  Are you going to ignore my question and keep asking me the same thing?

You tell me.  They are both funded by the British state.

What's the difference between sitting in Stormont & Westminster?  After all, all legislation passed in Stormont still needs royal assent
