Quote from: imtommygunn on Today at 04:27:33 PMThe podcast is great and 90+% of the time niblock is ok but there's the odd time you're listening thinking what the hell - e.g. I thought he pushed McGuigan quite hard to say he was an alcoholic which there was no need for at all and he just came out of the blue to say Dan Gordon sounded bitter with Down county board about getting injured before the AI final in 2010 when he didn't at all. Sometimes chases a headline... (which maybe he has to do tbf to him).

I thought McGinnity was an interesting enough guest. Always remember him as very serious on the championship but came across  guy with a good sense of humour.
You're not going to get much growth in figures if it's "just" GAA ex-players going over old games.

Niblock is after the hook that gets them new listeners. The missus and her sister listened to the Kevin McElvanna episode and they're Prods with zero interest in the GAA, so the story matters.

Quote from: Tony Baloney on June 15, 2024, 10:00:50 AMA podcast called Bear and Scully has come up on my feeds a few time as Ireland's #1 Podcast. I clicked on a link there and it opened up a YouTube video of a live show. At first glance it looks like it's *really* not my cup of tea. Any takers here for it?

An absolute balloon. More interested in talking about himself

Bear as in Bear Competitions?

Yes seems to be. It has been appearing on Facebook recently and looks like the same chap.

Quote from: AustinPowers on June 20, 2024, 10:15:09 PMI can't think  of many films I've actually seen  him in , other than JFK.

He was in Catholic Boys too, which was a great  film
You'll definitely have watched him on a Sunday afternoon in The Eagle Has Landed.

Quote from: AustinPowers on June 20, 2024, 08:46:05 PMGlad to say that was fairly poor from  England , but unfortunately  though, they  are still in it , and already through to the  last 16

Should have been beaten tonight , but  I wont be able to sit comfortably until they're on a plane  home.

Hopefully they'll  continue to play as  poor as that and the first decent team will  send them packing
Yeah only really enjoy a tournament when I know they have started their summer holidays.

Quote from: gawa316 on June 17, 2024, 12:09:20 AMBDC went to school about 5 miles from where I live but I'd nearly support nearly any other golfer over him. Never met him and don't know but he just gives off the vibe of being a dick.

Was it him and brooks that had the run in? What was that over again?
About slow play. Brooks had a pop years ago.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on June 16, 2024, 11:43:29 PMSo Bryson went in with a lead to final round but Rory bottled it?

Not sure how it works

I normally back him but you can't miss a 2.5 and a 3.5 foot putt on the back 9 and expect to win a Major.

Also the driver on 18 was inexplicable!
Bryson missed a 3 footer too?
Go to bed, you're making a tit of yourself!  ;D

3 bogeys in the last 4 holes .

I know imagine trying to spin that as anything other than a(nother) collapse!

McIlroy choking on a Sunday. Who'd have expected that?  ::)

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on June 16, 2024, 01:12:27 AMBryson fairly entertaining and working the fans. Breath of fresh air from the seriousness by some..

Can't see him choking from this point. 3 up Rory playing too conservative the last few days so expect him to at it tomorrow and balls it up.. Cantlay going well, be interesting to see how the chasing pack take it on
He was having a bit of craic on club selection at ones of the tees and I thought he should concentrate on the game. He cracked it into the sand. He obviously can handle his own game and doesn't need me to advise him  ;D  but if you give the crowd too much slack you open it up for nonsense from some banter merchant.
