Killoe 2-11 Dromard 0-10

Fairly dull, to be honest. Once the first goal went in Dromard were always playing catch-up and the second goal just after half-time finished the game as a contest. A lot of chances wasted, more by Killoe than Dromard.

Great to be back in a county final after a 9 year break.

Hope Mostrim decide and give some of the younger players they used yesterday a chance to play senior next year . Our senior team has gone stale . Ended up with 9 U-21's on team towards the end . Thought Jack Lynn at 40 plus vat was excellent . Padraig Jones as well .

The Insider

Minors drew Westmeath in the 1st round of 2016 Leinster while the U-21's are paired with Wexford away with the winners to meet Westmeath at home . I dont know if there is a home and away agreement for the U-21 like in the minor

Number 24 appeared to have no understanding of why he was being given a red card.
His team did not score after that and it was tight at the time with one point in it.

North Longford

In fairness Insider and having nothing against Mostrim specifically, but the fact that they were allowed to play in that final makes the GAAs decision to rescind Diarmuid Connollys red card look like a very minor thing altogether. The GAA rulebook is a complete farce.

He must have been the only one who didn't.

I believe some powers-that-be in Killoe were dissatisfied with team selection choices and forcibly made their views known after the match. Good job they didn't lose or things might have been even more forceful.

Fully agree with the sentiment of poster questiong the fairness of the rule book , but they  must remember that its title is the official guide leaving plenty of leeway for getting around things . There was 3 reasons the objection was ruled out of order ,enough for it not to be re submitted or appealed by all accounts.  I am also aware of an other matter that will be addressed by bye law for convention that has been discovered .
Longford also has to address the lack of an assistant secretary who would be able to sign documents should the present secretary be unavoidable ,again this will be addressed at convention b0

And that there unfortunately is the mentality that has things in the state they are throughout the GAA..... when the facts are a team completely broke the rules of a competition (which isn't even being debated) and yet were still allowed to progress in the same competition.
As for the 3 reasons the appeal was rejected...do you know what these are because its actually quite embarrasing and they have nothing to do with the rule or sorry 'guide' that was broken.......

The Insider

Will be another quite night at convention,  very few nominations,  Martin Skelly running for development officer along with Eugene Quaine ,Gerry Hagan unapposed as Irish Off. Eamon Reilly nominated to chair , Brid Mc Goldrick nominated for  vice chairperson . Think there is only 3 motions plus 1 on updated bye laws . Possible there will be no PRO as 3 of the nominees are said to have declined, while little know about the 4th
