Question, I'm playing reserve football this year for first time (early 30s life crisis ;) ). Does reserve champ draw follow senior or are they drawn separately?

You'll play whoever your senior team draws. It'll be either at home or away based upon who is pulled out first.

Great to see championship draw finally happening tomorrow night.
Should throw up some great ties across the three divisions. Anyone want to try and call the winners early?

Fixtures on First may bank holiday monday?? Anybody her that?

Games are on the Friday night because Mickey and the lads head away on the Saturday morning for their team bonding weekend. Final game before the starred fixtures. Think they head Saturday morning and home on the Monday.

Where are they away? I don't begrudge the county team meeting up in May for team bonding.

No idea. Either do I. County Board have been very sensible this time instead of last years fiasco where players we asked to play for clubs late on Sunday evening after returning from bonding weekend.

Championship Semi Finals are being played 29th Sept - 1st Oct, Finals the following weekend.

They are trying to get the championship wrapped up in time for the Ulster Club I'd say?

Those dates don't seem to accommodate a replay. Could see it extended by an extra week if there are a few draws.

I'd say the solution will be change the Sunday double header to Thursday Night in Omagh 7pm and 8.30pm

Change Owen Roes and Fintona to Saturday.

Simples
Fintona have a golf function on Saturday that they're running in conjuction with the Michaela Foundation

Garvaghy could hold that game on Friday evening?

So its okay to shaft Junior clubs again by being expected to move Garvaghy? Why can't Omagh/Ardboe go there?
Obviously Garvaghy wouldn't be able to hold it due to support and the thought of it being played there is crazy but my point is, no club should be expected to play a championship game in Garvaghy. That's not what it was built for. The Derg & Derrylaughan game should never have been played there!

The CCC are obviously  trying to get it wrapped up as best possible to avoid the situation where clubs are playing promotion/relegation playoffs in november after a lengthly period of time off. Id expect D1 & D2 relegation playoffs to be played the weekend 30th Sept if both Eskra & Greencastle are beaten this weekend. Junior football also has 2 rounds of fixtures to fit in to determine home playoffs etc. And i'd expect the first one of those rounds to be played the weekend of 30th Sept. Id say due to a vast number of complaints in previous years the CCC want those play offs played before November unlike the previous few years. Therefore cant see these fixtures being changed... However it does lead to a lot more problems for the CCC in the future.

Fixtures aren't ideal but they aren't the worst either!

Not saying shaft junior clubs just trying to think of solution.

Also what happens if Omagh/Ardboe draw? this wouldn't help the fixtures and its very possible they could as they are well matched!

Instead of the winners playing Greencastle in KC on sunday the replay will be played there with the quarter final being completed the following weekend (30th Sept) in a stand alone fixture alongside Junior league fixtures and potentially some playoff ties. Leaving the winners of quarter final with a week to prepare for the semi final.

Was McShane not in the 26 for the Armagh game because he played for his club the previous week?
Heard that
Heard he asked could he play the starred game, was told it was up to him. Went and played. Trained all week with Tyrone and then wasnt named on the bench and given number 33 on Saturday. He could be put in an awkward position regarding Junior Championship.
Think the issue with that was that Div 1&2 were starred fixtures but Div 3 wasn't a round of starred fixtures.

Massive weekend in the relegation battles in both Division 1 & 2. This weekend could be the one that decides who goes down.

Is this weekends game definitely a starred one then? I know its starred round 3 so assume it is too but just checking it hasn't changed. I did think the 5 games was the maximum number of starred games and there could be less depending on progress of the fixtures. But at the same time 13 days out from a quarter final they might be happy to let the county team focus on that.

Though the club games have worked well to date for the county players and it is hard on the players in the squad not getting game time without them. It's obviously also hard on clubs who really need the points to miss their best player or players.

Next three games are all due to be starred providing Tyrone progress through the QF, leaving one last non-starred game to be placed once Tyrone are bate.

regarding your second quote, I think that this is an issue. I think Dungannon or someone similar at top of Div 2 have Aghyaran coming up which will be a starred fixture. this is a massive game for both clubs and a win could go towards securing the league and promotion. With Aghyaran missing Ronan McHugh alone they have lost a major scoring threat which could affect their promotion. I think Ronan had No.28 on him at weekend so hasn't been in the squads lately. I know that Killyclogher were allowed to play Sean Fox in starred fixture when he was on the panel.

another example is Cahir McCullagh at Greencastle, they are at the wrong end of the table and Cahir is a massive player for them

League fixtures have been run of pretty quickly this year compared to others. Starred fixtures will always have a bearing especially at the business end of the season. Greencastle, Ahayaran and Div 3 leaders Owen Roes are but just a few which will be affected by it. However you couldn't hold it all off now until Tyrone are beat. Would only disrupt the club season further and annoy a lot of club players!!

Starred round of fixtures this weekend. Some big games all over the county. Urney and strabane will be a massive game.
