Thanks Ogie, great to get an update. Do you know who is involved in the underage teams?

Maybe this could have its own topic. Great to see Louth win, with Dublin in transition and not dominating at underage, Leinster could be interesting over the next number of year. Louth senior and u20 champions and minors could make it a clean sweep. Anyone in the know what they did to get their house in order? Remarkable when you think their 2 biggest towns are predominantly soccer towns too. Just shows hard work, the right structures and right people in places and you'll make progress.

Good win for Laois against Waterford, bigger tests to come but Tailteann cup all about momentum

Who is gone Les? Nice group for Laois, no reason not to be targeting finishing top, be great (but difficult) to beat Offaly

Wednesday night was tough but Kildare are very strong and would be hoping to go on and win honours with that group. Naas doing great work at school level which feeds into underage squads. We really need to have our schools in Knockbeg/Portlaoise/Port etc competing better than they are currently are. You'd hope this would be an area Shane Keegan will target.

Any word on what the minors are like?

Any idea what the minor and u20 teams will be like in both hurling and football?

Any idea of the team that started or who featured Brandon? I didn't see too many Laois lads playing Sigerson which is disappointing

Congrats to Portarlington, they got better as the championship progressed and they saved their best for the final. It would be great for the county to see them going on a run now but will be difficult with the departures. If they can get them all back next year they'll take stopping in the Laois championship.

As a neutral, it was great to see both teams go man on man and have no sweepers or negative tactics. Although Portlaoise might have regrets allowing space for Ports inside forwards.

Graigue were very disappointing yesterday bar Kelly, they never got going, but fair play to Port.

Portlaoise again looked very strong, Fennelly doing a great job there and have them playing a nice brand of football. They'll surely go in favourites for the final and might have Tuohy back which will make them stronger again.

Should be a good minor final too, been a while since Portlaoise have won a minor title

How are the underage footballers going?

Anywhere to find squad listing, be interested to know what clubs are represented and also who is over them?

Saturday was a step top far in what has been a positive year. It would have been great to win and they had their chance but the step up might to 'Sam' might be a year too early for this current crop.

For Laois to improve they need to ensure there is not a big turnover in the squad and we keep adding youth to the panel. We also need to improve the pace and power but that can only happen if lads apply themselves over the winter months and from minor up.

Goals killed them. Same as the u20s and seniors, we've an awful habit of conceding goals.

Anyone have the squad details of the underage teams? Would love to know players and clubs who are representing from u14 up

Laois have a good man at the top in Shane Keegan. It's up to the clubs and schools to be feeding players into the underage teams otherwise it doesn't matter who is over them. Clubs should be encouraging volunteers in and then upskilling them as coaches. More GDOs are getting rolled out and more are required and needed to liase more with the schools.

What are numbers like at the clubs at an underage level? What's the standard like?

What's people's thoughts on the Leinster championship? It's sad that losing to Offaly can be counted as a blessing buy when you see the 'reward' for winning its hard not to be a small way relieved.

Nothing will top the feeling of winning the  Leinster in 03 but think Leinster championship as it is now is a waste of time. Maybe moving it to the start of the year and replacing the O Byrne cup is the way forward.

If a principal has an interest in GAA it will feed it's way down. Training a school team can take time for teachers and some might be reluctant to do it as it eats into their personal time. Clubs are finding it hard to attract coaches or committee members, it's sadly a sign of the times in modern day Ireland
