you might as well set up a group of Galway teenagers to beat manners into them, and a group of Rossies to put manners on them, maybe a few Armagh lads to shut them up, a few Dubs to knock sence into them and a few Langers to sort them out etc. etc. etc.

Sounds like "The Warriors"

the ban is great when you are trying to give up too, you can go for a pint without people waving them in your face right in front of you.

Its a good thing, and if you do smoke I wouldnt worry too much, most pubs here have very comfy smoking areas, you more than likely wont be left on a street corner in the rain.
The landlords dont want to lose ye!

Iolar, I am sorry I started the thread now, was expecting all round condemnation of them, rather that a debate.

However I think it important to understand how some other people who attend games (wont call them fans) think.

This is why I posted, and also because I experienced them first hand in Castlebar.

I sat nearby at the Castlebar game and to be honest, they were never going to do anything as they were far outnumbered in that area by the Dubs but would be worried as to how they would be towards smaller groups.

They were trying to egg the Dubs on though, deliverately made their way over and stood right beside the main Dublin group and started chanting "f**k the dubs" and pointing towards the Dublin fans right from the off. There were a few cans tossed towards the Dublin fans too which came quite close to blows being exchanged.
I was there with the missus and we backed off from the area as it did seem a serious possibility that a fight might break out.

Now I will clarify one thing, there were some awful knackers from Dublin there that day and I have already condemned them on resdubs, so I aint just having a go at the Mayo fans.

Stephenite couldnt have put it better "Every County has complete f**king dickheads that support their team"

GAA Discussion / The Mayo "firm"

I had the pleasure of sitting next to these in Castlebar, all about 17 yrs old  of course, and about 15-20 of them in total.
Big fans of the old soccer chants, "you fell over" and "you ate all the pies" etc, with of course "f**k the dubs" etc.
The proper Mayo fans behind them looked well embarrassed!  :D :D :D :D :D :D

This is from their "bebo" profile posted on reservoir dubs...

"We're the Cults, the so-far small Mayo Firm, soon to be big. Look at the page before matches to see where everyone will meet. Add as friend to join. No girls or anyone under 16 aloud. This is a "firm" for anyone who wants to support mayo as a large organised group, sing chants and songs on the terraces, and bring the missing element of fan rivalry to GAA matches.

Next Match: League semi-final

Meh, dont think theres much gonna happen at it, we'l save ourselves for the championships.

McHale Park
We always stand dierctly behind the goal at the Albany end, which was crawling with Dublin scum a few weeks ago, which will never happen again if we make the Albany end Mayo-only.

Happiest When
Seeing Mayo win, and seeing dublin skangers get battered by pigs in McHale park, classic.

How to Dress
Unlike traditional firms, we wear the mayo jersey. Wear a scarf, baseball cap or anything like that, so if theres any trouble people cant name ya.

Our Name
We'r called "The Cults" derived from the derrogatory term cultchies, also meaning a large organised group. But dont worry, no mass-suicides!"

I shit you not  :o

Kerry Mike apologies about the F***ers post. But just as Im about this post theres that idiot Dubnut calling Rovers fans Knackers and some of you have the cheek to tell me that Im not here to debate..What do ya call them idiots that are just here to slag off Rovers fans

Good relations, I have personal experience of Rovers fans at matches as I have posted about before and felt the Rovers fans I encountered were vile vicious knackers.
Thats my personal opinion from experience, if how the Rovers fans acted make me an idiot well I suppose I cant win.
And you might also note that my contributions to threads about Rovers make up a tiny proportion of my posts so I am not "just here to slag off Rovers fans"  ::)

Good relations........

"For what its worth Im not that PRAT hooperama or what ever his name was.But DubNut you come across as been even a bigger idiot than him"

And you say we come off as childish  ::)

"I bet ya have never even been to a Rovers Game"

If you read my previous posts about Shamrock Rovers fans you will see that I have had the misfortune of going to a few games.
Worst shower of knackers I ever came across.
