I've always thought Nunez was better coming off the bench, someone to cause a bit of chaos. Saying that he didn't have much impact against Palace last week but even still I think he is someone who is better coming into a game rather than a starter.
Liverpool been very unlucky with Jota missing so many games, probably the closest they have to a natural finisher.
I think they should give a few of the youngsters a game now that the title is gone and top 4 is safe, would like to see more of Danns especially.

Quote from: Turf on April 25, 2024, 01:17:41 PMMaybe he will stand in the centre circle and tell the fans their job now is to support the new manager aka 'the chosen one'.

Klopp is leaving Liverpool far better than he found them. If he had would nothing else apart from the Premier League he would still be considered a legend imo. The fact he won everything there was to win (apart from the Europa League obvs) means he will go down as one of the greatest managers the club has ever had.

Certainly whomever comes in has big boots to fill but they should be given time because it's probably going to take next season at the least to find his feet at such a big club.

Genuinely intrigued that Liverpool fans will hold him in such high esteem, or maybe is it recency bias? He delivered one league title in 9 years?

I get that he is an iconic figure and was box office and even fans of other teams will miss him from the EPL.

They hadn't won any league titles in the 30 years previous, 1 in 9 isn't bad considering!
I'm actually genuinely intrigued about how someone couldn't see him as anything other than a success at the club but sure each to their own I'm not here to change anyone's opinion on him.
Liverpool fans will hold him in the highest of esteems and probably won't care what any other fans think.

I like Gakpo would definitely keep him.
Would also give Nunez another season but they definitely need a more natural goalscorer in the team.
Toney is a good shout actually.
Could you imagine the amount of goals a prime Owen or Fowler would have gotten playing in that Liverpool team.

Quote from: gawa316 on April 24, 2024, 11:00:46 PMPerformances over the last month or so have resembled a lot of last season
Klopp said around November time he felt the team were playing above what he had expected after introducing new players.
Maybe this is just the drop off after over exceeding early on?
Never felt they would win the league tbh but did expect them to win the Europa League.
Don't know anything about Slot or the Portuguese guy either, interesting summer ahead.

Alonso done some job, they were 2nd from bottom when he took over in 2022.
Will stay next season and then head for Real Madrid would be my guess.
Harry Kane must wonder will he ever win anything.

Didn't expect Arsenal to lose like that, be a cake walk for City now, probably win another treble this season which is even more depressing.
Might take Pep leaving to stop their dominance or something to come out of the charges against them, if nothing happens with the charges this is pretty much it for some time to come with them winning the majority of league titles for years to come.

Had to be all about him.

What kind of idiotic statement is this??
Awk you didn't bite to that?
The get caught out saying something stupid and use the I was only fishing excuse....

So many missed chances, just not going to happen for Liverpool today.
It's been the story of their season, but they have been getting away with it, unfortunately it's starting to bite them now at the wrong time of the season.

Quote from: J70 on April 14, 2024, 02:58:06 PMI think the title is gone regardless of whether Liverpool come back and win this.

Liverpool need to win out, but you can't squeeze through by the skin of your teeth every single week. Sooner or later you're going to fall short.
I think you're right but they need to win this first to be still in with a chance, then just take it game by game.
I'd be bringing Jota on.

They've been shocking really. If they don't pull this back today the title is gone.

Sure Munich should have had a penalty for handball that Arsenal fans don't seem to be talking about!

That Mac Alister goal reminded me of Gerrard's goal against Olympiacos.

What score will this end up?
4-0 after 13 mins  :o

Quote from: imtommygunn on March 12, 2024, 09:34:03 PMArsenal not hugely impressive here. Pepe still a dirty animal.
He is but he can still play.
The Pepe at the other end of the pitch is a decent player.
Arsenal been poor, not much support from those fans either ,very muted atmosphere.
