Roscommon fans are the equivalent of the beaten wife in a tumultuous relationship.

Every January the husband (Roscommon GAA team) turns up with flowers at the door promising he has changed for the better and he's not going to slip back into his old habits. The wife is besotted once again, she ignores all the advice from colleagues and acquaintances about the perils of what she is doing, initially everything is going fine (flying in the league) and she is on top of the world - bragging to everyone else about what a great man she has in her life. Then summer comes, the husband slips back into his old habits, he's back on the bottle and unleashing his fury on his wife, she takes a battering (Roscommon get humiliated in the Championship by team they wrongly thought they were well

Right now we are at the stage where the husband is beginning to show slight indications of returning to his old form. Will the wife ever learn?

How can a county ground of a fairly progressive county be such a shithole and I am referring to the field not the stands etc, why have they not rectified it with drainage etc over past decade

There was a dispute over ownership of the ground. This was resolved late last year. Work will commence on the pitch in the summer. The pitch will not suit our nice footballing side, it will suit some of Mayos big horses.

Some of the Rossie posts on here are an embarrassment. St.Patrick's day is barely passed and anyone would think they are now the new kings of football.

Sensationalist shite, the non Rossies and media are the ones bumping us up. Bit ironic regarding banter, when one or two of your own has set up a Facebook page to exclusively have a cut  in a derogatory manner at anything remotely linked to Roscommon. Surely Ballyshannon should be the venue for away non-Ulster teams. Ballybofey was 2 hours more on the road for us and Letterkenny worse again. I ve no doubt that Roscommon folk are looking forward to playing one of the best teams that the game has seen. I doubt Donegal will be as psycho as they were last 2 matches ( management must realise they need to calm down a bit), but they are bloody good.

Donegal split their league games between Ballyshannon, Ballybofey & Letterkenny to facilitate Donegal supporters from each area.

We have to travel miles to each away fixture as it stands & having the odd league game near where we actually live is a small bonus for us.

If this game was played in Ballyshannon many Roscommon supporters would actually have a shorter journey than Donegal supporters from the north end of the county.

Thats fair enough. I am not being an arse here, however Letterkenny ground is in an awful bad spot for parking and getting away. The ground itself has a small stand and most people will not make it to the stand, the spectator viewing areas around the ground are all level, making it a disaster for kids and midgets. Its much better than our own Kiltoom, but not great all the same. Would take the hand off use (if you excuse the pun) for a draw.

Thanks be to God I decided to visit my mother instead of travelling to Tralee to watch that rubbish. Both McGee & the Kerry forward got exactly what they deserved, McGee a couple of boxes & a red card for the Kerry lad.

As a committed Donegal supporter I have to say that I am getting sick, sore & tired of our approach to the game at the moment. I hate the whinging, mouthing & messing which is incessant & comes directly from the manager who has made it a trademark of his managerial life.

When we play football we are as good as anyone around but this constant bellyaching is going to cost us against a referee somewhere who will notp ut up with it & rightly so.

Fair play not easy to come out against your own. I agree would not be too found of Gallagher at all. Shame as its a really talented football team.

For the record Liam Tierney does drone on a bit (and his accent is almost Tom Cruise Longford) - but he was a top footballer in the late 70s/early 80s and played for Ireland in the Aussie rules fights in Croke Park of the mid 80s.

No - the class most Rossie supporters are known for here are commenting positively on good results Longford have got over the years such as u21 wins over Dublin etc. Unlike the snide drivel you post about the bus et al. If you have nothing decent to say don't post.
