General discussion / Arlene's bigotry shines through
February 14, 2018, 01:13:21 PM
On Tuesday, the DUP leader said there would be:
- no compulsory Irish language in schools (fair enough)
- no-one would be forced to learn Irish (fair enough)
- no quotas for Irish speakers in the civil service (can understand concerns,  so one for further discussion)
- would be no bilingual road signs (why not?)

How on earth could bilingual road signs impact anyone's rights?  Your hatred of Irish language must be such that the very sight of it is unacceptable to you.   This is a demand based on nothing rational, simply blind bigotry.  Keep digging that hole for yourself Arlene.

So let me get this right.  Community Together Developments are about bringing together those from both sides who want social housing but wish to live in an integrated community rather that sectarian ghettoes. Ok so good work by the Housing Exec.

So you've just moved in to one such development to improve the upbringing of your kids, one just off the Ravenhill Road, traditionally Unionist and close to the loyalist Cregagh Road.

You awaken to find the development adorned with UVF flags.  Media coverage quite rightly calls for such flags to be removed from your development.  Then up rocks the newly elected DUP MP.  The very MP whose dad just happened to be a leader of Ulster Resistance, an organisation who the government acknowledge imported 1000s of guns which the UDA and UVF  used to kills 100s of innocent Catholics during the late 80s and 90s. Guns which have never been decommissioned.   The very MP who, a few weeks before the flags went up, was endorsed by the UDA in her election campaign.   That MP knocks your door and asks if you have any problem with the UVF flags.

Emma proudly proclaims to the media that she didn't find any widespread demand for the removal of the flags from the residents.   Funny that.... 8)

Surprised there wasn't a proper thread on one of Europe's largest community festivals!     Was anyone at West Belfast Talks Back last night?   Any sparks between Brolly and Gregory Campbell?

General discussion / Casting from Kodi / xmbc query
June 03, 2015, 08:55:42 PM
If anyone uses Kodi/xmbc to cast to chromecast, Roku  or Firestick are you able to cast live sports?   I can play the sports channels on the tablet but they won't cast to chromecast.  Movies etc cast fine.

GAA Discussion / Dublin GAA and biting??
July 21, 2014, 06:08:23 AM
Dublin involved in a 3rd biting allegation in 12 months.   Jim Gavin needs to get his house in order.   Southern media won't make anything of it of course as anything goes as far as Dublin are concerned

General discussion / Max Clifford
May 03, 2014, 10:01:39 PM
Deserves its own thread.   There's an poetic irony in the fact that many celebs charged with horrendous offences, despite considerable evidence against them,   get off due to expensive lawyers and the PR work of the likes of Clifford.   Neither could save him however!

Santa is on the lookout for a suitable tablet for my  8yr old young bucko.  kindle fire is getting good recommendations.  Ipad is obviously a consideration but don't fancy paying thru the noise for everything thereafter.  Can anyone recommend other options from experience??

Virgin Media are offering a deadly SIM only deal for £12 per month.  Service provision is T-mobile and Orange 30 day rolling contract.

Does anyone know what Orange reception across the North is like as presumably T-mobile is non-existent?

General discussion / Parking Ticket Question
March 01, 2012, 11:16:14 PM
I was parked outside a shop on the Ormeau Road and noticed one of those privateer f**kers in the red jackets writing out a ticket so I ran out aplogised and jumped in the car and away before he could finish the ticket.    Will I get one in the post??
