Ballymena use a few of the factories for car parking when there are big games on.

Saw the HT score and it looked like the damage was done by that stage.

Glenariffe Glenravel had a good wind first half but they were superb at the back in the second half. Battled for everything and think the closest Dunloy got was about 7.

Quote from: SaffronSports on September 22, 2024, 11:04:05 PMThe lad who isn't supposed to be on the field makes a run which is tracked by a player from the same area that the eventual ball winner comes from. Nailed on replay imo but not surprised at our county board covering the incompetence of a referee.
The lad who is supposed to be on would have needed to be tracked though.
There was no numerical advantage, the players involved didn't touch the ball and it was sorted very quickly.
Appeal is a joke.

I think how quickly it was sorted is part of the problem too. Ref and lino are made aware very quickly. If they take it back to the kick out again, it's sorted. TBH, I'm consistent on this issue and believe Glen should have had a replay too. No skin in the game either. No connections to any club but just feel the video made it very clear.

Think we needed to win that tonight and we done so in style. Couple of tough ones coming up but even a draw in any of those next three would be decent enough before another run of winnable fixtures.

Cahair O'Kane posted the footage on twitter. Nailed on replay.

How long have St Enda's been attending the blitzes with the NA clubs? My wee man played a few years ago and they were  regular attendees. Has that been happening long enough to have had an impact on the win last night? Do you think playing those teams has helped them?

Cahair O'Kane seemed to think in his article yesterday that Cargin and St Brigid's were happy enough. I assumed he had maybe got sources. TBH if I'm Cargin and St Brigid's are appealing that's the team talk sorted. Lads, these ones are terrified to play you. Mind games would be in Cargin's favour if St Brigid's show weakness by appealing.

I can't understand how they can't just let the league and championship work as different comps. If you're shit at the league stage of the year you'll probably be shit at that time again next year. There are anomalies in Antrim with it being a dual county and Dunloy the very obvious one but look at Sarsfields in the hurling too, Creggan the year before. teams have different players available at different times of year so have them completely separate imo.

Probably end up a 20 team senior championship next year

Taken from an old Derry Journal article. Essentially there is a process in place to stop the like of Slaughtneil dropping down.

"Lavey were crowned Derry Junior champions at Owenbeg on Sunday but it's Na Magha who will advance to the Ulster Series such are the anomalies with junior hurling in the Oak Leaf county.

The Erin's Own were in charge from start to finish, eventually coming home with a 17 point margin of victory but having been designated an Intermediate club before the beginning of the championship they are unable to advance to the provincial series at junior level."

Embarassing tbh. The draw was supposed to be Lamh Dhearg/Creggan vs St Brigid's/Dunloy and Cargin/Ahoghill vs Portglenone/St John's.

Quote from: NorthAntrim on September 03, 2024, 10:06:44 AMOur championships need an overhaul for next year. IHC a stand out. Groups of 5 and 6 teams. Groups starting on the 27th of July and running to the 21st of September!

What's the alternative? Half the clubs involved are dual so there needs to be an allowance for that. I think it's better this way than last year when they ended up squeezing in a Wednesday - Saturday game week while everything else was 2 week gaps across football and hurling?

It would be unreal.

Like the USA at basketball, Ireland would start as strong favourites.  ;D

Clare, World Champions!
