Looks like it could be a nasty one this, parts of the country under a red warning.
Will be unusual with the winds coming from N/NW which could see quite a few trees brought down as they usually grow to brace themselves from a S/SW wind.

It looks like it is going to be bad with electicity wires down and flooding.

While Irish airports are yet to report any major disruption stemming from the storm, Amsterdam's Schiphol airport has cancelled more than a hundred flights due to heavy winds caused by it, the airport, one of Europe's main hubs, said in a statement.

Every day is a school day, I didn't previously know that! Thought it was always sun that dictated the growth direction of plants and trees.

Thigmomorphogenesis is the process by which plants change their growth patterns in response to mechanical stimulation, such as touch, wind, or raindrops.

I was down for two weeks last year after a storm.

That's their biggest downfall.

When it works, it works well and is cheap enough, but you're in trouble if a fibre gets broken locally and there's only a handful of users out like I was. They prioritise the bigger areas of users.

there's ones who will be lucky to be on before christmas I'd say. That storm wiped them out.

Do they simply not have enough engineers as resplicing a fibre line isn't a big job.
