Of course. They'll brazen it out for a day or two, then the next thing will come up and the story will be dropped. There'll be no congressional investigations or subpoenas. Every institution in American life is rolling over and asking Trump to tickle their belly, whether universities, newspapers, law firms, corporations. One by one, everyone trying to duck down and avoid his gaze hoping that they will escape his ire.

The legal profession, in particular, is alarming. Good luck trying to get a decent law firm to defend you against Trump and his goons.
That's the reality for now but can see them running out of road eventually. Even Biden's fiercest defenders eventually knew when the game was up, and he wasn't destroying international relations, ripping apart the federal government or doing untold damage to America's reputation.

Unless he's actually a genius, and we're all the fools, you'd imagine at some point even his dyed in the wool red voters will say enough is enough. Especially if the roosting chickens hit them very hard in their pockets.

If only, there is no situation in which the trump of cult will slow down. The only thing that would slow them would be a Jonestown-esque end.
Straws do break camels' backs though at some stage and the dollar speaks loudest in US. And while there is a cult of sorts, there is still a very sizeable middle ground who voted for him made up of plenty non-white minorities. And end of the day, no matter how bad a candidate Harris was she still got 75m votes. So at some stage I can see carnage for Republican congress reps and senators not to mention the in house administration fallouts that are bound to happen with Trump himself. He'll be a lame duck soon enough. How much damage he does in the meantime is the question.

Bord na Mona man

Of the 77 million Trump voters, obviously there is a cohort of MAGA clowns who see any attempt to point out Trump's blatant lies, stupidity and failures as being liberal, leftie, commie fakery.

On the other hand there are plenty of quiet Republicans who vote with their wallets mainly. They prefer lower taxes, small government, safer cities, probably less immigration and maybe less woke stuff that the Democrats have allowed themselves be painted as the champions of. Though wokery is hardly in the top 10 of America's problems.

Anyway, I'm sure a few million of them know full well what a despicable person Trump is, but prefer his policies to the alternative.
If Trump continues to keep his government stocked with bungling clowns though, all it takes is a couple of percent of a swing to tilt the advantage back to the Democrats.

Remember when Boris was thought to bulletproof and no amount of (Trump-esque) balls ups would lose him his handsome poll lead, until eventually it did happen.

The White House has issued two executive orders in the past fortnight. One targeted Covington & Burling, which represents Jack Smith, the special counsel who oversaw federal criminal cases against Trump; the other, on Thursday, was against Perkins Coie, which represented Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential race.

Despite the administration's pressure on Big Law, Williams & Connolly, a renowned Washington law firm, chose to represent Perkins in what legal analysts say is a sign of resistance to the crackdown.
Perkins on Tuesday sued the government over what it said was an "unlawful" executive order that "violates core constitutional protections, including the rights to free speech and due process".
Williams's involvement "suggests that they're not going into this to make nice", Richman said. "Williams is deservedly known for its forceful litigation and I expect to see that here."

Banks of the Bann

After the Trump admin clown show spent all day lying to a committee, Jeffrey Goldberg releases more info to show them up as liars (what did they think he would do as a reaction to the smears against him?)

Of note also is the glee at the news of a building collapse after a strike to take out one man. Absolute psychopaths.

And the comments from the MAGA patriots defending the indefensible....a world spilt in half by the great western bullies / colonisers.

The EU's top trade negotiator expects Donald Trump to hit the bloc with tariffs of about 20 per cent next week as the US president takes aggressive steps to cut trade deficits.

Maroš Šefčovič, the EU trade commissioner, told officials that Washington's final plan was still unclear but that tariffs would apply equally to all 27 member states after meeting senior administration figures on Tuesday.

Trump has attacked 2 legal firms, one for its association with Hillary Clinton and the other with the campaign to impeach Trump. This is senior hurling.  One of the firms has sued the Government. It is being represented in court by one of the most aggressive lawyers.
Legal companies know the law better than Trump and his cronies. Get the popcorn in.
