Is C McManus Monaghan's Conor McManus? If so, whilst he has the talent, i'm not sure he stacks up in the other categories at this stage in his career above Tommy. Similarly whilst Darren Hughes is a great talent, I wouldn't rank him above Finlay at this stage. McManus and Hughes both have potential to be the backbone of the Monaghan team over the next 5-10 years, but it's probably a bit premature to be ranking them above the others.

35 C McManus
37 T Freeman
60 D Hughes
65 P Finlay
82 D Freeman
92 D Clerkin
Did you really think Monaghan would have 6 men in that list!!!!

Where forwards are concerned, any proper manager would have Gooch first, Michael Meehan second, a long way ahead of any others about at present.

Ahead of Bernard Brogan?
Don't be silly.
A good bit ahead. Meehan a far better finisher. Brogan built up by Dublin-centric media.

That list is all over the shop

-Im a big Brian Dooher fan,and he has been magnificant over the past decade, but he slowed up a tremendous amount in 2010,so number 4 is  too high.

-Bernard Brogan is far too low at number 12,He should be in the top 3

-Owen Mulligan at number 25,ahead of the likes of Alan Dillon, John Galvin, Niall McNamee??
Definetly if this list were being made in 2008,but all 3 of those are in my opinion way ahead of Mulligan at present.

-I may be biased  and all due respect to them but
Tom O Sullivan
Nigel Crawford
Barry Cahill being picked

ahead of Seanie Johnson and Donie Shine??? Bullshit

What did Meehan ever win?
Did he ever even play past a Senior All Ireland Quarter Final?
Has he an All-Star?

Meehan won AI colleges, 2 U-21 finals and a club AI, and was pivotal in all victories. Has always been excellent for Galway, even when surrounded by mediocrity. Remember his tour-de-force v Kerry on the wet day a few years ago? Also had great games v Cork in the 2005 1/4 final and Donegal in 2003 (his substitution in the latter, drawn game was O'Mahoney's single biggest mistake as Galway manager as it swung the game Donegal's way)

Er. what has Brogan won?

Kerry Mike

Nicholas Murphy at number 26 !!!, he would'nt have even made the top 200 in Darragh's day.

The glory days must be coming to an end with only 2 in the top 3 for us, yerra it was a great 10 years I suppose.

I think Meehan would probably be higher only he missed most of last year with his injury. A pity as he was in terrific form. He roasted Michael Shields down in Cork in the league and and was doing a similiar job on Kerry in Salthill until he banjaxed his knee while scoring a goal in that game.

brokencrossbar1

Nice to see 2 Cross lads on the list but you I would have to say that, even though he may not be still playing county, given his form for Cross in rfecent months Oisin would be a decent shout in front of the likes of Trevor Mortimor and Ross Munnelly.  Lets face it what have they really done in the last 3-4 years to warrant inclusion.

John Galvin should be higher up than 27.

lynchbhoy

I also think Meehan is among the top 5 in the country. Wonderful forward. IMO better than Cooper as he is a hell of a lot stronger and cant be intimidated out of a game. On last years form as well as talent, B Brogan deserves to be be vying for top spot with meehan.

also K Donaghy in that top 25 ...????
would have Paul galvin in my top 5

actually there'd prob be ten players in my 'top 5' !!!  :D

IS Antony Lynch still playing for Cork?

Yes, he'd be the last man to let them down.
