Never been as apprehensive about a villa match in my life. This much bigger than any of the cup finals that I remember. So much riding on one game of football.

Incidentally i see that Fulham were allowing their fans to buy 5 tickets each and they have then went and sold a right few of these to villa fans. Could be a potential issue on the day.

I don't think so. Fulham's fans are not known for their aggression..
Do Villa lost their parachute payment after this season? If so this is definitely the biggest match in their recent history.

I wouldn't be trusting you with Villas parachute, there would be scissors involved

I'm afraid MD, very afraid. Fulham are nowhere near as good as everyone thinks they are (I'm praying they prove me wrong) and the Vile have a very experienced and capable squad. If the poisoned dwarf has the right head on him I'd be fearing the worst?
I've got my prayer mat out.

Fulham are a better team than Villa. But I'm hoping that won't matter on the day. The beating blues gave them on the final day indicates to a weakness that wasn't evident for the preceding 3/4 months. Villa's full back injuries could be a problem as Bree will be a serious week link if he plays. Hopefully Elmohamedy has recovered.

Tough luck on the Villa but no complaints when you dont score. They had 67 minutes to respond to the Fulham goal

Yeah the game followed a quite predictable pattern. Best team won.

The 123 in the Championship table got promoted. Its a tough division, 46 games, to get out of.
The three relegated teams from the Premiership in my opinion are in disarray and hard to see them as contenders next season so maybe Villa Boro Leeds and Preston NE might fight it out

Pity that Wolves will be the only Birmingham area team in the PL next season with West Brom gone down and Villa still stuck in second gear. that said, Wolves look fully able to compete for a mid-table place next season with a few buys. No reason for them to sell star players like Neves or Jota. They have the core of a very young and exciting team to build around now.

Jota is on loan, but your point it well made. Wolves will finish top 12 for sure. Villa could be in bother now. Spending limitations due to FFP mean they will have massive turnover in their squad. From those playing today Johnstone, Terry, Hutton, Snodgrass, Grabban and Omonah will all be gone. Chester and Grealish will get offers from lower half Premier League teams, although I don't think Grealish will leave.

In any division the Villa Brum Wolves Baggies derbies were always good battles.. Mid table is ambitious but the way the Premiership has gone it's top six and then 14  teams fighting to make 40 points

Jota's loan was made permanent in January. It becomes effective July 1st.

First half was typical Bruce and it was atrocious. Handed Fulham the initiative. Second half was better but couldn't make the break through and so don't deserve to go up. It's now a long hard road for villa. Next year's team will be unrecognisable to the one that played yesterday. Hope we can keep Grealish but I honestly wouldn't blame him for moving on. Much too good for that league. Systematically fouled yesterday.

Yeah so my severe apprehension around the play-off final was well justified.  Appears Villa now don't have a pot to piss in and couldn't even pay their taxes. Wyness (CEO) has been suspended (not 100% sure why at the minute) and there is an emergency meeting being held today with an insolvency specialist.

Lots of talk that the owner is no longer able to draw funds out of China after a govt change in policy and even more talk about a possible take over.  It's an absolute shambles.
