Quote from: BigGreenField on June 09, 2025, 01:37:51 PMWith a missed penalty and some 2 pointers for the winners not sure Cargin would be too concerned.

The match report had Tomas not starting, is that right? Cargin are a total different animal with him playing (perhaps to the point of reliance).

A number of our (good) dual ref have a tendency to allow hurling rucks to develop on the football field, as the man said find the soft free and move on.

Pg1 score line probably the most notable of the weekend , if not the result.

If St Pauls can beat Agahgallon in 2 weeks  at home probably looking at Tir na nog going down in a playoff (regardless of how poor rossa have been).

Tomas only came on last 5 or 6 minutes

Surprised you actually went to a meaningless game.. surely there's better things to do?

Assessing ref tonight I had to go

Quote from: Take the Mark on June 03, 2025, 10:02:53 AMI couldnt give a shiney shite how Antrim get on this weekend, the sooner Andy and (more importantly somewhat) his band of selectors get the road the better. That being said I do think its bad form for a round of league games to take place at the same time as they are playing, it won't affect me but I'm sure there are lads who would like to follow the game some way or other who will have their own game to play instead.

How many minutes until a certain someone rolls in with 'clubs can agree with eachother to change the time of the game blah blah blah'  ;D

Games changed to 4pm Wexford must be closer than I first thought 😱

Quote from: InnocentByStander on June 02, 2025, 09:26:16 AMWhat presentation was on at the weekend?

I see Paul Duffin got u20 player of the year, great player shows real leadership for a player of his age.

I thought they were hammered every game they played to get player of the year in that is some achievement alright

An U20 presentation just one of the lads in our club said but he did not attend. In the Devenish fair play to Knux and the management organising something like that giving players a bit of appreciation for their hard work despite a tough year results wise.

Paul Duffin a stylish operator form what I have seen , is he anything to Colum Duffin ?

Quote from: Caesar on May 20, 2025, 09:08:33 AMSo by your logic Lár na páirce, a player can only be county standard if he plays for a top club team? There's plenty of examples up and down the country to prove that as nonsense.

In Antrim ? The standard is horrendous let's get real here

Yes that's correct

Christ, there's some snobbery about lol

You done a game in Toome few weeks back McGarry was St James best player scored first two points of game then cargin put O'Boyle on to him and he didn't sniff it for 55 minutes ,Kobo is a great player but if an ex county man(by 4 years)is doing that to a player in some quarters claim to be county standard then there's something Not right
Btw I think mcgarry would be good with good players round .
Reality is a 16 team senior league is farcical as there aren't 16 Div one standard teams in Antrim

Quote from: Lár na páirce 1 on May 18, 2025, 11:24:51 AMAntrim's woeful decline under McEntee is nothing to do with Cargin or an imaginary boycott the players that were called up went each year and gave their best to then not be played sometimes getting no game time at all also.
McEntee would rather play Glenravel Ballymena,Rossa and the Ulster select players even had the farce of Oran Downey being called up to the panel couple years ago he wasn't even good enough to make his original club team in Derry,Sometimes big and athletic isn't all that's needed for county football in my opinion Niall Burns is one of the best footballers in the county but rarely starts as he's smaller! Get a manager in who will play the best players not what height you are or what you can bench press or what the GPS data is telling you.

A bit harsh on Glenravel, Ballymena and Rossa there. McEntee can only select who makes themselves available.

I just don't think he's the man to this team where they need to go.

Just not high level players I get what people are saying about your Armagh and Kerry players at junior level on all Ireland teams ,Clifford's play intermediate and previously junior football for Fossa is there anyone in the Antrim div 2 or 3 or in junior championship would cut it at county football albeit at now a very low standard in div 4 I'd still say no chance

Quote from: NatSoSaff on May 16, 2025, 12:58:27 PMI'm more than pleased with group 3. If we get through it, we will be have been more than tested in a couple, if not all, of those games.

Cargin must be sick of the sight of whitehill and st.johns.

I think that's three years with the same teams now surely the Down and now Derry model for championship football is the way to go the group stage is just bullshit and with zero intensity
