Sligo
Kilkenny
Carlow
Clare
London
Leitrim
Antrim
Waterford
Antrim
Wicklow

Not as clear cut as you would think, it could really come down to who scores the most against weaker opposition like Kilkenny and London

Interesting one this. Will Antrim finally make the leap to Division 3? Along with Sligo, they would probably be favourites, although Leitrim, Wicklow and Waterford could also be in the mix.

Teams like Clare who won't probably push for promotion are very hard beaten on their own patch though. Sligo have to go there next week after the great preparation of playing Kilkenny at home. Not sure how we are shaping up but word isd that the attitude and application is much better which is good to hear.

I think that's all most Sligo supporters ask for - that the county team are well prepared and that fellas lucky enough to line out for the county give their all to the cause. If they do that we cant fault them regardless of how the year pans out.

Agreed 100%.

I hear that London are preparing for a tough battle against Leitrim.  Dunning messed about with his media cntacts a few weeks ago and was spinning a yarn that Gary McCloskey would play with London but thankfully that's not the case.

This won't be an easy game for Leitrim as it's the first game although I'd love to see them beat the lard out of London and get rid of this monkey that jumps on the Leitrim backs.

Going to be a tough division to get out of no matter who you are.  Sligo won't learn much other against Kilkenny.

Hope Sligo and Laythrum come up. :o
Only because it would save us a bit of travel and make Div 3 all the more interesting in 2009(we'll still be there in my estimation)

Not quite sure what London will be like this year. What is for sure is that as usual they will have a completely different panel than last year and given the number of new faces into London over the past six months there may or may not be a bit of quality in there. The trouble is quality only gets you so far in county football. It's a two or three year project to develop a team and to develop players physically and more importantly mentally and unfortunately over the last ten years London have never got that level of commitment from any group of players. Some individuals have been incredibly committed but there haven't been anywhere near enough. London have got off to a slow start as Dunning was only re-appointed around Christmas, having resigned after the Championship last year, but you get the feeling that he thinks there is sufficient quality there to justify the time involved (that and the fact that no one else wanted the job !). So what would be success? Well given they have Galway in the Championship you can forget about that, but two league wins, Kilkenny and possibly Waterford would be realistic, although Waterford are no bad team. The likes of Sligo, Antrim, Leitrim and Wicklow are too strong and too well organized, which leaves only Clare or Carlow as other potential scalps. I can't see a Luke Dempsey team being beaten by London, and Clare in recent years have always been physically too strong for London. One win is essential, although they did lose to Kilkenny last year, and a second would be a bonus. If Leitrim get beat, then don't hesitate to sack Mickey and Mo on the spot and demand your money back. London have had no preparation at all, while Leitrim have had the two gurus in place for months and a host of FBD games under their belt. If you fail in London in this game withdraw from the league immediately and apologise for wasting people's hope and money.

I promised never to support again after the Tipp/Waterford debacle last year--- i just couldnt as i was broken

But im being mended and we will rise up again with a full heart and destroy Waterford, the Viking loving baastards.

Show some pride--come on Antrim

Sligo - to paraphrase that priest in Father Ted, we really shouldn't be here.  :P
Kilkenny - Win and give the scoring difference a big boost. Could come down to that later.
Carlow - On recent years should be a banker but remains to be seen how Dempsey has them fixed. Second last game and at home, so our need may be greater by then, should be two points gained.
Clare  - Our nemesis of old. Ennis won't be easy to get a result, if we do it'll set us up well for the later games. Seems that they will be a better side this year.
London - Third time in Ruislip in ten months, another drain on the kitty. Point to prove after the TM fiasco last year. A must-win with a good margin, hard to know what the recession will do for them, should improve their pick but time will tell.
Leitrim - The old enemy. Got battered in Carrick last year so time to even the score. Hopefully the win will be secured. Won't be easy as per usual.
Antrim - The crunch tie up in Belfast. We are joint favourites, so it'll be hard to call. Win here and it's hard to see us not going up.
Waterford - Lemybrien 2006 has left a scar. At home so should win, made hard work of it two years ago. If they can turn Antrim and Leitrim over that'd be great.
Antrim - So good they got mentioned twice.
Wicklow - The last-day tie in Aughrim again. Went into it two years with lots at stake, and we won easily. Can it be done again? Will be there or thereabouts if Micko can be arsed with the league at all.
