Incredible stuff at Trent Bridge this morning!

No kidding. It's like a corner-back on his Championship debut rattling in a hat-trick of goals.

When Australia were down to their last wicket, some of the pundits were worried that the Australian would be psychologically scarred for the rest of the series.

Agar poised for a century - already got the World Record for a number 11.

Unlucky not to get the century, even Botham was willing him on.
I'm gonna show you as gently as I can how much you don't know.

Amazing performance by the lad. But no one should get too carried away. This is the first time any bowler has sen him. After they have studied his style the bowlers will try to find a way round it. Bowlers don't just chuck a ball the same way all the time, all top bowlers know their opponent and his particular weaknesses. So far Agar has no known weaknesses and fair play to his performance. But a close study and a few may be found out.

Only after 3-4 tests will we see just how good he is. But take nothing away from him. As sports fans we all want to witness history being made - Dublin hurler's winning a Leinster title after 52 years, Murray breaking the Wimbledon 76 year hoodoo, the lions victory after 16 years, and the greatest ever last wicket stand couple with the greatest ever 11th man batting.

What an absolutely breathtaking test match. The series is well set up now but how will it live up to this start??!!!! I heard it's the first time England have taken a 1-0 lead in the Ashes since 1997. Looking forward to the Lords test already. Finn surely has to be replaced by Bresnan.

Jimmy Anderson really is somethnig else.

Former captain Trnet Johnson announced today he will be retiring at the end of the year. Played 180+ times for Ireland

Saw Trent Johnson's announcement. He has been absolutely huge for Ireland with bat and ball and as a leader. Will be missed.

Second test followed a familar pattern on day 1 yesterday with the momentum shifting a few times. Great start and end for the Aussies made it their day but England must be kicking themselves after getting into a strong position. The tail needs to stick around for a while this morning and add on 60-100 runs or the Aussies will be well on top. Ian Bell really is a joy to watch at times, such a skillful player.

Bresnan out first ball of day and Anderson soon after.  Swann and That Cheating f**ker Broad together for last wicket.  329-9.

England's last pair put on 48 to leave them 361 all out.  Comical scenes as Broad clearly nicks it to the wicketkeeper, umpire gives him out but Broad asks for review.  The Aussies make their way back to the pavilion so that when the review decision comes through only Broad, Swann and the umpires are left in the middle!

Yeah but remember you get 2 reviews per innings. So as soon as the last man is out, the reviews you had left disappear and you start again with 2 new ones when the opposition come out to bat. Broad was last man so when he goes out the innings is over. If you have a review left you may as well throw it in and hope for a miracle. It wasn't that there was a serious expectation of him getting a reversal but it was no loss to challenge it and a shot to nothing.

Agree 100% and in the context of the series and what's happened before no harm to wind the Aussies up a wee bit.

Another great example of how not to use your reviews by the Aussies before lunch.

Good synopsis. Send it to Michael Clarke, it looks like Australia have thrown away their reviews for this innings as well.
