Throughly enjoyed it as well - not as good as Fargo but still very very enjoyable.

Took me ages to work out who the main characters wife was...

Didnt hear it was closing cant say I'm sorry - seemed to me that every time I was there I had to listen to some mill bag squealing at some child calling them all the names of the day and slapping the life out of them.

Yeah its totally ridiculous just cause its the only live football they have they hype it to death. The worst is the lower league teams getting a run out on tv and that being described as the romance of the cup

I agree that hes a good choice - probably exactly what they need. But you would hope that they put in a performance clause so that if they dont qualify or perform to a certain standard they can ditch him without the huge payment the last two clowns got

Was listening to Newstalk this morning and the AA are saying that there would be ridiculous amounts of waste in collecting barrier free tolls - instead they suggest adding 2cents to fuel.

Seems pretty sensible to me but loads of people in Cork, Galway etc went ballistic saying they would never use it and why should they pay etc bla f**king bla - of course I wonder what they'd think if all taxes collected in Dublin were just spent in Dublin and vice versa - I'd be more than happy with that!

I pay tax for loads of things I dont use -  health care, child benefit spring to mind but I accept that these are necessary. So is sorting that balls up of a road.

Wasting 25 million collecting tolls is a waste - 2 cents on fuel is a much better plan. Of course I suppose that nearly guarantees it wont happen.

QuoteWTF!?

Get a grip!  I never heard of the girl until all this happened but and no one hates cheap "journalism" more than me but that's a ridiculous statement!

Totally agree - no one is responsible. She sent invitations to all the press who had never met her to go to her birthday. She wanted a career as a celebrity model and publicity good or bad goes with the territory.

Have complete sympathy for her and her family.

While I'm here Tankie you argument is balls - more people die every year from drink related illness and assaults/accidents caused by drink than anything else and I'd hazard a guess do far more damage than illegal drugs. Not that I'm in any way making a case for coke.

General discussion / Re: Hatton v Mayweather December 8th

Good article by George Kimball in the Irish times were he says Hattons best chance is to damage Mayweather's hands with his face - a little harsh but also probably true.

He also points to the long line of British Champs that have gone over and failed (the exception being the Canadian lewis) everyone from Minter to Naseem.

Hope Hatton wins though..

People could make the same arguments for drink - ie if you fell blocked it was your own fault, or if you were attacked while drunk (stats say that most people that are attacked at night are drunk even if they are completely innocent) its also your own fault. Likewise smoking infact you could make the argument that anyone seriously hurt playing sport or racing cars (legitimately) had it coming since they endangered themselves. And as for rock climbers dont get me started..

Obviously you dont drink though Tankie do you..

QuoteHes just in his second season as manager, of course he is going to make mistakes.

Maybe that wouldn't be the case if he wasn't such and arrogant, mouthy, opinionated p***k.

QuoteLooking forward to collecting on my bet for Sunderland to be relegated. Don't know about Boylesports but expect Paddy Power to pay out early. By the way I said this months ago.
The susceptibility of  Irish soccer supporters to buy into the constant media hypea round Roy Keane infuriates but does not surprise me. Even after a 7 goal tanking by Everton (a super power?) there is little or no rational assessment of Kean's managerial credentials (Staunton with attitude?) or his farcical transfer dealings (Yorke, Cole, O'Donovan -- Ian Harte anyone?)
Most interesting will be the cash-laden Cats descent to the Championship as his old arch-enemy Mc Carthy takes Wolves in the other direction on a pittance.
Time for the reality check that for so long has bypassed  Irish soccer fans.

Bang on!
And he should also bin the snide comments towards other international players - we dont need to get back into that argument I'm sure..

Richer Sounds behind Castle Court in belfast is a good place to go - was the cheapest I found and I searched (also make sure you haggle as they WILL give you money off). Also they say if you go over 36" it is better to get a plasma.
