GAA Discussion / Re: Ulster Colleges
April 01, 2013, 11:16:31 AM
What is the difference between a vocational school and a college/ grammar school? are holy Trinity School Cookstown ans Bessbrook not the same type of school? Why can there not be one for all?

was glad to see Cross beat on saturday. now maybe someone will inform them that the GAA exists outside crossmaglen and they will start representing their county  Thought it was reprehensive and cowardly what the Kernan boy did stamping on the St Brigids lads hand

A beautiful stadium which the paid Ulster GAA officials will take great pride in but another white elephant which the ordinary GAA person will be paying for in 50 years time. From a financial viewpoint, it is totally untenable and will be open and only 25% full on less days than the union jack will be flying on the city hall.

GAA Discussion / Re: McKenna Cup 2013 Power NI

Would like to congratulate my old Alma Mater on withdrawing from the McKenna Cup. They must be vastly disappointed that the other two Belfast colleges hadn't the balls to do the same.

Not in the least jealous, just think that the same laws should apply to Cross as all other clubs and that you shouldnt be alowed to bully your way to success

What club are you from as i would like to check its disciplinary record.

You have to admit that Cross are a very dirty team.

Come on boys, you forgot that he is from Crossmaglen. Only they are allowed to patrol where they want. They never do anything wrong, they only do what is right.

Armagh / Re: JOE BROLLY WON'T BE HAPPY

Makes me laugh at Crossmaglen players talking about onelife one club. They are the last club who should be spouting that slogan when you look at their record of poaching players.

How will Joe feel now that his favourite team Crossmaglen, have done  a Kildare and poached a young player from a Junior club in Monaghan.

A young lad decides to play for a club that 3 generations of his family have been involved in for over 100 years, the same team that his father played for for a number of years, the same club where at least 3 of his first cousins play underage football for and his 2 uncles are underage managers, the same club that his grandfather was chairman and president of for years?  No connection whatsoever!!!

With that response, BCB, just shows that you are no better than Kildare, robbing a poor Junior club to satisfy your thirst for trophies.
There wouldn't be a club in Ireland that hasn't a player with a parent, an uncle or a cousin playing for another club. What a ridiculous argument.
The questions which have to asked are.

Does he reside in Crossmaglen?
Did he ever play for another club?
If the answers to those questions are YES, then he is a glory hunter and Cross are no better than Kildare but you will not get Joe Brolly lashing out at Them.

Border rabbit, are you honestly saying that cross players don't dive. Wasn't Macentee complaining after the game that none of them "bought" a foul. Are you saying that Tony Kernan is not a diving cynical cheat. Are you saying that Tony Kernan didnt stamp on a GC players hand. Are you saying that Hanratty doesnt dive? And all that British Army stuff taking over your pitch when you cried when they left, having to go out and fundraise like the rest of us. As cynical a team as you will get anywhere in Ireland.

They have a set of rules in Crossmaglen that is different to what all other clubs have to adhere, ie, they can do what they like and are immune from any sanctions as where other teams are guilty if they look angry at one of their players. Their diving is almost as bad as Tyrone. There were no complaints last year when Kevin Nolan got sent of in the wrong for hanratty diving, his two yellows werent even frees and cost Kilmacud the game. how many times has Tony kernan dived and got players sent off ? Did you see him stamping on the Garrycastle players hand when he was on the ground. They usually get a player sent off each game for diving. Stephen kernan struck, he got sent off, do the crime do the time.

Well, well, no letter from Declan O'Sullivan in today's Irish Times bemoaning his misrepsentation.  ::)

He hasn't said a word since the whole thing started, and you can be sure he was contacted by the media given his profile. Why would he change that stance now? Or are you digging at people who say it's a fake picture?

There's a difference AZ: it's one thing refusing to respond to enquiries, but it would be a whole different matter to have a doctored photo of yourself put out there that portrays one in a very bad light; one's passive and the other's active.

In answer to your specific questions: a bit of both.

I don't think it's doctored, so why would Declan come out and say anything? He hasn't said a word since it happened, so I wouldn't expect him to say anything now. He's concentrating on Kerry again now that he's back in that panel for the game with Armagh.

I think if this picture was to come out at all, it should have come out at the start, not 3 weeks later. The photo does nothing to exonerate Derrytresk from the incidents they got suspended for, it can only mean trouble for Declan O'Sullivan, 3 weeks after the fact. Anyway, that's going over old ground myself and O'Neill went through last night, so no point saying the same thing again.

I just can't wait for the final this weekend, and all this to be put behind.
FFS, nobody has kept it going more than yourself. Get over it and move on.
