Just seen the groups for this. No teams entered from Down, Fermanagh, Antrim, Cavan or Armagh. I've always thought this was a useful competition, obviously not everyone thinks so.

Some good games planned!

I think it seems to be an obstacle to most club teams. Managers feel its more beneficial to be out training hard on fitness rather than playing these games and having to spend money on travelling etc.

Radda bout yeee

The reason there are no Cavan teams in it is because our county leagues are starting February 18th.
It's a great competition, which was a definite aid to ourselves last year.

I think he may be referring to the senior section

Not surprising, there's so many Derry/Tyrone clubs (nobody's fault) so can't see many Armagh or Down teams wanting to travel every Sunday morning. I know they tried to 'regionalise' it but that still put us (Armagh team) up against Malin one year!

intheknowhow

Truagh Gaels and Castleblayney Faughs are representing Monaghan.

Is that Lamh Dhearg Antrim or Armagh?

Lamh Dhearg in Armagh is Keady right? I'm pretty sure they don't play football, the football club there is Michael Dwyer's or something, so I'm almost certain it's Lamh Dhearg in Antrim
