Is Henderson doing anything this year to win over the sceptics? Loads of talent but  never seems to have any supporters outside Lurgan.

QuoteHow good is Kyle Coney? Objectively rather than bias in people's opinion. Is he as good as Stevie?

Certainly not yet. Has the potential though.

Better than Colm Cavanagh however. ;)

QuoteWTF is the story with "the Colm Cavanagh project"?

Please be my friend again Sean..............................

Bizzare decision to
a  bring on an unfit midfielder who hasn't played a good game in over a year
b. Put him in at left back
c. Leave the striker who got the winner from the previous game on the bench

while I still believe TM can only be judged next season he is making it hard to defend him.

BTW anyone who thinks Keane will be a goal machine is deluded. He is one of the least clinical strikers around. Spectacular yes. cool and precise no. Keane doesn't do Scrappy.  His efforts last night are a perfect summation. Clean through Henke would have chipped over the keeper, Keane blasts it straight at him. If that was Samaras he'd be hung out to dry by the supporters. Keane is a good player but needs a poacher alongside him.

Quotehiddinck won the FA cup with Chelsea. So I guess that's the first argument taken care of.

What is significant about that? League titles and Champions Leagues are what I consider significant.

Mourihno is class but apart from Porto, which is a lower standard league, he has had an open cheque, he would not have that at Arsenal.

Still no other alternatives I see.

For most fans the FA cup still holds significance. For the deluded among the Arsenal set who believe they must eat at a better table, obviously not. Chatting to  lot of Arsenal fans I believe that patience is wearing thin - the booing at the Emirates today suggested that.

Wenger has, and has had, money to spend. It may not be the billions of chelsea but enough to but a top class striker and DM that would at least give Arsenal a chance.

His insistance on trying to win the EPL / CL with "kids" is rapidly turning him into Roy "Tin Cup" McAvoy.

As said before - who exaclty are these "kids" who have come through the Arsenal set up and make a real impact this past 5 years???

When Arsenal were winning titles under Wenger - who were the "kids" in the team then????

Lippi
Del Bosque
Capello
Mourinho
Guardiola (on evidence so far)
Hiddinck
Hitzfelt

would all be able to bring Arsenal on, maybe at the expense of 50 passes a move but at least with 3 points in the bag.

In terms of managers who could take arsenal to the next level I would suggest mourinho and hiddinck for starters.

I would say that would be your starters, main course and dessert, Hiddink hasn't won anything of signifigance since the 88 European Cup, when it was knockout, it has won no league title outside of Holland and failed miserably in Spain with Madrid and Betis, his myth is greater than the fact.

Mourhino won't be right for Arsenal and without an open cheque book I'd have my doubts about him too be honest.
.

hiddinck won the FA cup with Chelsea. So I guess that's the first argument taken care of.

Jose will have won 6 leagues in the last 7 years if Inter take the title this time round. So I guess he wouldn't be right for arsenal who seem to prefer pretty losers.

Without SON or cavanagh, with many youngsters to blend in and with so many others not match fit  I believe we may run the risk of relgation may be on the cards this year. Hopefully gel by championship time

There are plenty of managers who would do as good as Wenger has done over the last 6 years. They probably would not play attractive football, hide behind the endless talk of bringing young players through and show little or no respect for the domestic Cups. But i'd bet they'd still qualify for knockout rounds of the Champions league and finish 3rd or 4th in the league.

Really, who are these magical managers? And at the same time it would be a bit stupid to bring in some who will get the same results but playing less entertaining football in what is after all an enterntainment business.

You didn't answer the question, what manager could bring Arsenal onto a higher level?
.

rafa - and I'm not a fan of his either - has at least secured a cl title for Liverpool in the past 5 years. What has wenger done in that time? If the ambitions of arsenal fans are limited to finishing 3 or 4 in the epl and playing pretty football then fair enough. The myth of the arsenal youngsters  is also Bullsh1t. Fabregas was stolen from barca for a start and what other youngster has helped arsenal win anything? They preen about in the carling cup, until getting put out in the semis. That's it.

In terms of managers who could take arsenal to the next level I would suggest mourinho and hiddinck for starters.

If ever a team flatter to decieve it's arsenal. Players like nasri, bentdner, eboue (first contribution to fall on his ar$e), almunia, eduardo, rosicky, denilson and walcott are not of the standard nor have the character to win titles. Serious questions must also be asked of wenger who pit a b team out for a winnable fa cup and who Has failed to strengthen the team now on several occasions where they may have had a chance of doing something. How does rafa get calls for the sack and wenger is untouchable.

Ah well. Last time we threw away a McKenna final we ended up ok :)
#1602
Is that season ending or just out for the NFL?  :-[

Thought Red Sean and McKenna did well tonight. Half forward line took a while to get to grips but eventually produced some very good football.

Ref was bizzare throughout though............

Tyrone 1-8  Cavan 0-3 at half.

No question about it Brian was outstanding. Coney needs to learn a bit more about teamwork but wS very good nonetheless. Thought McKenna had solid debut as well. SON a cut above also.
