According to todays Irish news (15/08/07) there are four choices for the Armagh managers position.
Who would be your choice and Why?
I'm gonna go for Paul Grimley. He's familiar with the panel and seems to be a good tactician. The changeover would be
a bit smoother than if it was a total newcomer coming in.
*edit - have added Brian McAlinden

My choice would be Jim McConville

I was genuinely asking if he was on the shortlist. The choices I listed were according to the Irish news.
Michael McConville
Crossmaglen (1 Ulster; 3 Armagh SFC)
Culloville (1 Armagh IFC)
Clady (1 Armagh JFC)
Shelagh (1 Louth IFC)
Whitecross (1 Armagh JFC)
Carricmacross (1 Monaghan IFC)
Might not be a bad choice for Armagh.
Quoteand they lost out to Tyrone in the decider 12 months later.
................... please TYP don't! :(
What's wrong with Brian Mc Alinden ?
Peter McDonnell for me. Getting big Paul Grimely is a backward step. Out with the old and in with the mediocre.
Having considered things a bit, I think that Michael (Packie) McConville as manager with wee Jim involved would be a great team - I have experienced both first hand and I think that they are both good enough to manage at Inter-County level. Obviously they would need someody from mid or north Armagh along with them to provide balance (and stop the Buckfast brigade from whingeing).
Lads, is there something wrong with the "new armagh manager" thread we've been discussing this on for weeks?
wat bout ur man john crossey
Was McAllindan not joint manager before Joe McKernan, did Joe not win the all ireland the very next season.
So who do you credit the AI win? Nature or Nurture?
We don't need this new extra thread - go back to the old one.
