We have the following ranked teams in our group

England - 2
France - 3
Sweden - 6

We are Ranked 25 and we were ranked 38 at one stage.

We are mixing with the BIG GUNS here.

They got very unlucky with the draw, England and Sweden were in pot 2 and 3 because of poor performance in the previous Nations League tournament. They will still have a chance to make it through the playoffs into Euro 2025 but if they lose all 6 games, which could happen that might make the playoff path tougher.

The draw is mad It's weird that it wasn't overridden.

No-one who is upwardly mobile in football wants to manage Ireland Nil. We could be like Belgium (in a political sense, definitely not football) who had no government for some time and the civil service ran the country.

May as well bring this thread back from the dead. Kenny is in with Pats now. Great for the LOI and there's a tasty tie with Duffer on Monday.
Not to drag it all up, but lads scoffing at some of the names being mentioned when the ex-boss is staying local shows his overall level. We will get what we're given when someone is eventually announced.

Mate of mine just pointed how Robbie Keane is doing well in Israel but he also sat on his arse doing nothing with the FAI for ages. Just kinda shows him up and why he is never really loved in Ireland - football Bono!

It still feels this is going in the direction: after leaving no stone unturned, and engaging with some of the top managers in the world (not our fault they never returned our calls), we are happy with John's results as interim manager and we are delighted to offer him the job (please take it O'Shea, we're desperate now, and ignore Duff's sniping that we treated yourself and Brian disgracefully).
