Quote from: Truthsayer on February 20, 2024, 01:38:52 PMNot much point in Tiarnan Quinn being in the match day panels if he can't get five minutes football. If he's not up to that level let's find out and he can go back to his club. All that flaffing about the last few minutes players afraid to have a shot for a point he would at least have had a go...
Welcome to the board, Tiarnan
::)  you're bit late that comment was made earlier. I'm def not Tiarnan Quinn!   :)
Welcome to the board Cathaoir Quinn, will Coalisland stay up this year?

Ok joke has worn bit thin... issue is, is there any point being on a county bench if you're not going to get a minute of game time?

Yes especially when the galbally fella got a few minutes at the end

Quote from: Goals_Will_Come on February 20, 2024, 02:37:10 PMIn my opinion the big issue Tyrone face is in their half back and half forward lines. You take the top teams currently in contention for the All Ireland - Kerry, Dublin, Derry, Mayo, Armagh. These teams have middle 8s who are full of pace, power, energy and line breaking ability as well as scores.
If you compare just with Derry our likely Ulster Semi Final opponents - they have Gareth McKinless, Conor Doherty, Padraig McGroogan, Ethan Doherty, Ciaran McFaul as well as Rodger and Glass. Tyrone on the other hand haven't the same level of player to go alongside Kennedy and Kilpatrick. Meyler is a massive loss in this area. The jury is out on how much legs Peter Harte has left. Seanie O'Donnell would bring some of what I mention into this area. After that it is hard to see where Tyrone can get the injection or impetus from - a return of form of McGeary would help, Oguz at club level has shown capabilities, there has been glimpses so far from Ben Cullen. I don't think the other options - Michael O'Neill, Frank Burns, Michael McGleenan, Cormac Quinn, Niall Devlin, Tarlach Quinn, Aodhan Donaghy - can bring to the table what we need to push towards those top teams again. Ultimately the best players for this are not on the panel - Tiernan McCann and Rory Brennan.
I think unless Tyrone resolve their issues in these lines of the field, they will stay behind in the chasing pack on the Div1/2 boundary.

What I would want For Mayo:
Devlin Hampsey Clarke
O'Donnell McKernan Cullen
Kennedy Kilpatrick
K McGeary Harte Oguz
McCurry D Canavan Daly

To me this is spot on. Other teams like Derry like 3 power runners like Mckernan in their half back line. M Donnelly runs saved them last year. Out of the list named burns might add a bit of strength around the middle.

Tmac at 32 would still be a great asset but understand if he's not a regular it's hard to commit. Monaghan and dubs early 30 players still key.
Donaghy and Devlin had great times with under 20s so hope they have the belief to make the step up. Brennan be straight in at 6 as well and a fully fit Peter teague would be useful

Where Cullen and Tarlach Quinn unlucky not to get a place at half back? Need more power in this area

Options on the bench and wouldn't be surprised with a change before throw in. Cormaic Donnelly on the bench. Seen him a couple of times and a good free taker. What's he like from open play?

Quote from: screenexile on February 17, 2024, 05:40:01 PMDerry 6 ahead at HT controlled it well this half.

Monaghan with a lot of possession but haven't know what to do with it. They have a bit of pace if they'd use it right but O'Hanlon looks to have tweaked the hamstring so doubt he'll be back out.

McKaigue will do well not to get sent off!

Why is that? On this year and last year recent performances alone not sure he should start but suppose the experience could be valuable

Quote from: Karl Kennedy on February 12, 2024, 09:13:52 PMCurrently in the process of changing car and trying to source the best 7 seater SUV. From reading reviews the cars that seem best in performances and reliability are Hyundai Santa Fe, SKODA Kodiaq, KIA Sorento, Volvo XC90.

Would definitely be trying to buy a used car at reasonable money. Price of cars obviously increased post COVID so wondering is it best to maybe buy in England instead of Ireland.

Anyone any advice on 7 seater cars that they may already have especially the pros and cons.

Been looking at these models myself recently. If I could afford it I'd obviously go with the xc90. Beautiful Motor and never a recorded fatality as far as I'm aware. Had an older model before but cost a few Bob to run. Newer models better fuel efficiency. The Kia and Hyundai have had face lifts in21/22 so are very pricey in the used market. Although have heard great reviews on both. Kodaq q probably cheapest option with decent reviews too. Top of the range ones a decently kitted out. The prices up North are crazy. I bought a year old kuga in 2018 for 18k. Now a year old Kuga is 23k

Work colleague is a big fan of the XC90's, buys them from somewhere in Scotland though and drives it home, says he can save a few K doing it that way.

XC90 and KIA Sorento definitely have better space in the 3rd row. Kodiaq not as good. All three drive better well to be fair but would say XC90 is best by far. Higher price but you get what you pay for I guess. with whatever one we go with, long term I hope none of the three give any long term problems and are easy to run.

JCool do you know the dealer your friend buys from in Scotland? Thanks
Xc90 is like a tank
Why would anyone buy something like that

Xc90 much better than a Q7? Asking as was leaning towards a q7

Yes Ruairi seems drop bit of confidence atm but would agree the better ground and weather should help. The Canavan and Loughlin combo is a handful.

Thought Mccarron was decent this evening. Cush strange player, looks top class then looks slack.

Thought the quality was few and far between today on both sides. Mcgrogan and Murphy's derrys stand out and Kennedy prob pick of them for Tyrone.

D canavan probably should have had 6 points with woeful shooting and although McCurry won any ball into him could tell his first game this year. Would have prob took a 6 point defeat at throw in but 2 points in 30 mins was a shocking return.

Quote from: bennydorano on February 04, 2024, 06:28:30 PMThe league is the league and is the place for trying lads out but I thought Tyrone looked really young and inexperienced, definite whiff of a team that has a couple of years of frustration & rebuilding ahead of them.

That's because they are?
