I've had this discussion more than once or twice. The term 'Atlantic Archipelago' has been coined to address all the underlying political insinutations

Here's a link to Mark Devenport's feelings on the subject.

Turk the situation outlined would be ruled a fumble. Same as if the returner spills the ball. Should the ball end up on the one or two yard line the the punt returner is unlikely to touch it if he had slipped. The return team take over from where the ball came to rest or was downed by the punting team.

The current Sky listing are available at this link.

Sky will try and show all 32 teams not necessarily the best games each weekend. As a Dolphins fan if we don't get some offence going quickly we could struggle this season. The performance on Sunday was abysmal, from the offence particularly. Another two or three performances like that and there'll be calls to bring in Chad Henne for Pennington and with one of the best paid offensive lines in the NFL their level of performance needs to be upped considerably.

Darren may well have made the best pro of all the medal winners in Bejing last year (Irish or otherwise). I'm actually stunned at the minute. Very sad loss. Condolences to his family.

have to say the men from the washing bay put up a gutsy performace tonight in dungannon andbut for mulligan playin his all ireland final would have been home and hosed. Two deadly chances to net onr in first ten min missed and one when it was a one point game ciiaron gervins goal was pure class 60 yards and four quick one twos back of da net deadly!!!!!!!!!!! These lads have a bright future considering that all barr that brady lad and kevin coary are under 24 fair play to you barrys was willing you on even though  neutral and found myself hoping for a moortown win as well after listening to some oul ganch in a pink shirt in the stands  roarin abuse and ravin like a donkey in the stand did anyone else clock this ganch??????? .22 would of done the job!!!!! Two great games anyhow bring on the replay !Mick hagans goal was also unbeleivable outside of left boot top right corner peach !!!!!!! some skank about too  ;)

Ciaran Gervin didn't score the goal, it was Fergal McAliskey got the second one. Was a fantastic bit of interplay alright. If the Barry's can produce that form again in the playoffs then I think they could just go up. The only thing I would say is they may need another midfielder. Ciaran Gervin's attacking potential is severly blunted when played there. In saying that he kicked a fantastic point in the first half. Liam's still minor next year, has a bright future.

As for the clown from Greencastle in the stand, the less said the better. I'll not hold it against them. Thought PJ Quinn was quiet today. Enda Clarke was exceptional for Greencastle wouldn't be against seeing a bit more of him in January in the McKenna Cup.

Two good games in Dungannon today. Thought Moortown were slightly unlucky against Greencastle. Down to 14 for the last 15 minutes and Sludden do them too many favours. Mickey Hagan's goal was one of the best you'll see this year. Thought Enda Clarke was superb for Greencastle.

As for Cookstown and Derrylaughan, slightly disappointed from a Derrylaughan perspective. Thought the lads done well. Eoin Mulligan was the difference between the two teams. I'm not sure I've seen a better individual performance this year. His first point and final free were absolutely fantastic. Cookstown won't be easy beat

I'd have been taking Cookstown 7/8 points before this. If there are two more players that have walked away this might get embarrassing. While the first 15 might be strong enough to compete with Cookstown, strength in depth isn't one of the Barry's stronger points.

Whats the verdict on int ties at weekend lads ? Hearing Mtown are goin in without hagan against castle, wont help their case. Derrylaughin also seemed screwed with apparently "three" big players out, one an aggravated injury and the other two falling out with manager. Cookstown seem the form team they gave gortin some pasting wonder who done all the scoring? 5-11 or that!!G castle also picking up again but think of these four ctown the team to beat with Killeeshil and stown to prevail

Regarding Moortown, I think following the tragic events there recently, their priorities may lie somewhere else for the time being. Should they be missing Mickey Hagan they just mightn't have the fire power to compete with Greencastle. As for Derrylaughan, I can't see there being too much change from the team that beat Edendork. Losing Eamon Brady may be something of a blow but they've had enough time to adjust. The two players who fell out the manager did so some time ago and hadn't been featuring in the team. Ciaran Gervin made a comeback from injury last weekend something that will have provided a boost. However given Cookstown's recent form and the return of their county men, they should have too much for Derrylaughan. With Stewartstown's recent championship pedigree I think they should prevail against Eskra and Killeshil and Gortin is something of a toss up. Having seen Killeshil recently (albeit without the lads returning from America) I think I'll take Gortin for this one!

any result from the Clann na Gael - Greencastle match?

Intermediate League Cup Result

Greencastle 1-13 Clann na Gael 0-08

What Greencastle would have done for this result in the league last weekend!

If reports are to be believed Derrylaughan have got a bit of a boost ahead of their championship game with Cookstown. Raymond Mulgrew received a straight red card yesterday in their league game with Killeshil. Is there anyone that confirm this?

Junior Championship tonight

Brockagh 0-14   -    Castlederg 0-06
Brackaville 1-9   -     Dungannon   0-14

Good wins for Dungannon and Brockagh tonight. Both will fancy their chances of going all the way.

QuoteOn the subject of the thread, I haven't an opinion on the rights or wrongs of the issue because it's not clear who organised what and whether or not rules were broken. On the surface, it looks like just another example of what is seen by many as an organised attempt at infiltration of the GAA in the North and hijacking of its place in the community by SF, that's causing some concern in GAA circles down here (and, I think, up there as well). But I'm happy to await the outcome of the GAA investigation

However, I find the abuse Maguire got for raising it to be disgusting, but revealing. Of course it's a legitimate subject for discussion on a GAA board. As somebody mentioned, the abuse illustrates what would confront any club member who tried to argue against the wishes of the vociferous cabal who will tolerate no vision of the GAA other than their own. These people seem determined to undermine the GAA's position as a broadly-based community organization. They take advantage of the commitment of all other members to leave their politics outside the door and take every opportunity to try to turn the GAA into some kind of propaganda machine for a particular political ideology.

Sinn Féin members are not trying to 'infiltrate' the GAA in the north, they have been part and parcel of it for years in many areas of the north. In areas like Tyrone and south Armagh many GAA clubs have members who are the members of both the GAA and Sinn Féín.

As for infiltrating and hi-jacking the GAA, both Fianna Fáíl and Fine Gael have been shameless in their attempts to attract former and current GAA player and managers to run for office. Think Graham Gearghty, John O'Mahony, John O'Leary, Jimmy Deenihan and more recently at the last local elections Brian Whelahan. I could go on. Sinn Féin's position as regards GAA is no different to other parties.
