Quote from: Windmill abu on March 26, 2025, 01:38:39 PMNevertheless his stance about not using preferred pronouns to accommodate a delusional student will be supported by larger numbers than you think.

another one that doesn't have a clue about the facts of the story

Did the whole sorry saga not begin with the pronoun bit? if not then tell us all the facts.

No not really. It started when the principal offered to discuss the matter at a time that wasn't at a public event and that wasn't considered good enough for Enoch. He got  so aggressive that others there had to intervene and hold him back. Anyone who thinks this is an acceptable way to speak to your boss is a bit of a knob.

He was not "sacked for refusing to use pronouns", despite what morons on twitter say. It never even got that far. The school may have been supportive and understanding of his views, we will never know...

Quote from: Gabriel_Hurl on March 14, 2025, 10:46:10 AMHe owes about 80 grand in fines.

There's talk of a receiver being appointed so they can start to get it back by garnishing his wages.

Bank of Ireland ordered to pay 40k of money from Burke's bank account to the court in 7 days.

Scary.

Cash is king folks.

Not really scary to be honest. I would have had sympathy at the start for him but he continues to rack up court fines by repeatedly breaking the court order, what do you expect?
If any of us behaved the way he did with our boss, you'd be suspended. If you continued to ignore the suspension day in day out the only outcome is court order. Repeatedly break that and of course this happens.

Quote from: theskull1 on March 26, 2025, 08:24:13 AMThe Bolsheviks and Israel are one of the same ... not surprising people are unaware of this given the way the history books used in schools have told the story of the Russian revolution. Do your own research to find out who owned those publishing companies.

As Alexander Solzhenitsyn stated ... "Russia must come to terms with the Stalinist and revolutionary genocides – and that its Jewish population should be as offended at their own role in the purges as they are at the Soviet power that also persecuted them"

I really really wouldn't be using quotes from Solzhenitsyn to attempt to make a point lad.

Tyrone relegated.

Meh.

Good chance to blood in the youth coming in. Probably going to lose another few lads at the end of this year so the team will be even more green going into next year.

Scandlous stuff. The "vigilance committee" called the police - like something out of 1984! If that's the punishment for a kiss it's not surprising what happened to women who gave birth to children  out of wedlock.

They also called the Priest! Absolutely insane stuff.

Quote from: RedHand88 on March 22, 2025, 06:56:33 PMStill a chance Kerry be relegated if they lose to Galway and Tyrone beat Dublin. Would be first time Kerry arent Divison 1 since 2002 is that right?
Thats not even hugely unlikely to happen either.

Most likely Mayo and Armagh win, Galway and Dublin games could go either way, I think imagine Tyrone might just have that extra bit of hunger against the Dubs but hard to call. Can't call the Galway Kerry game at all.

Depends how badly teams want to be in the league final. Not too keen I would think, training camp weekend be of more use.

Mad that Tyrone could end up on 7 points and be relegated.

Quote from: gallsman on March 19, 2025, 08:30:35 AMHave watched the first two episodes of Adolescence. Stunning and horrifying. Only thing wrong with it for me is that I can't buy Top Boy's Dushane as the cop!

When watching it, what immediately came back to me was the Ana Kriegel case, although I'm embarrassed to say that I couldn't remember her name, and I couldn't remember the details. I knew it was particularly awful but reading up on it again it really hit home how real this shit is. It makes for terrific TV, but it's a very real threat to our young people. No doubt some dickheads somewhere will shout it down as "woke" or whatever, but they can't be allowed to win. The Andrew Tates and the McGregors of the world need to be hung out to dry.

I clicked into one tweet yesterday where someone was giving off the the main character is white and not black which they stated was more stereotypical of this sort of crime (I didn't bother looking up stats to verify).
Now today, I am bombarded with tweet after tweet saying the same thing. It is mental to me that this is some people's takeaway from this show. As someone with a young son (too young for this craic yet), it scares me that I'm gonna have to work through all this with him at some stage.
You can't say to them, right you're not watching videos by Andrew Tate anymore, because they will always find a way. Parents can't shut out the outside world the way they could have when I was growing up. They need to get children to make the decision themselves and see this nonsense for what it is.

As I've already told ye he needs 4 Councils or 20 Oireachtas members to nominate him.

Exactly. I don't think the numbers are there for this nonsense to go any further. Wait for his video saying he's been shut out because of his views, something something tyrannical government etc

Most people can't say how they've been affected because they aren't. They will usually point to some video they saw on twitter of something a hundred mile away.

Can the president even do half the stuff mcgregor says he will do? Without the Oireachtas backing his ideas wouldn't it be a ceremonial position only?

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on March 20, 2025, 09:02:30 AMIs anyone getting tired of social media (lol in general) when deaths pop up on some sites and the whackos come on with the its strange we are having so many unexplained deaths, they must have taken the vaccine!!

Cause no one died before covid

Eddie seemed like a great character

Its post hoc fallacy. People think 2 concurrent events must automatically be related because one followed the other. Like me choosing to have spuds instead of rice for dinner and it raining tomorrow.
