They already rerouted the pipeline from the city of Bismark because of worries about leaks contaminating THEIR water supply. They're still cleaning up a river in Michigan which leaked close to a million gallons into the Kalamazoo river in 2010. Then, just yesterday, there was a big explosion in a pipeline in Alabama killed at least one and started wildfires.

Also isn't the alternative form of transportation for the oil by train? Which had a couple of big accidents and explosions esp one in Quebec with dozens killed a few years back, will likely happen again.

It''s like the trains in London. In the East the trains go all the way in to the City. Cos it was easy to demolish the homes of the poor. In the West you can only get as far as Paddington. Cos the property was worth a lot more.

I don't know what to make of it all. I've seen maps and facts from both sides and I might lean towards the state on this one that they did what they were supposed to?
The natives were shafted and continue to be but we all played a part in that I think - the Irish were just as guilty as any other emigrant of driving them from their land.  Too often we point the finger at everyone else - we were there too.
