Quote from: Itchy on September 02, 2024, 09:28:34 PMAmerica think this is a democracy. So if you support green policies and you've a green Councillor in your area you would check polls and if he has no hope you will not vote green and if you do its a wasted vote. Utter utter bullshit and f**king shame on any clown who wastes their democratic vote like that.

It's like something a Healy Rae would come out with.

blah blah blah blah. Not one word of what I said registered did it? So back to repeating your point ad-nauseum.

In reality, it *is* a binary choice in this US presidential election. Like it or lump it - that's what it is.

Maybe at some point in the past it wasn't. Maybe at some point in the future it won't be. But, right now, it is.

So your choices are:
- Hold your nose, accept the kow-towing of Democrats to Israeli hawks, and vote for the one that definitely will not let Putin perform ethnic cleansing in Ukraine with the hope their position on Israel hardens after the election.
- Vote for Trump, ensuring Israel definitely aren't squeezed and also probably ensuring Putin gets to take over all or most of Ukraine, with the resulting displacement or death of hundreds of thousands if not millions.

3rd choice, spoil your vote and register your displeasure at both candidates. Didn't a section of Democrats to this already recently?

I don't care what your predictions are for the winner of the turd election nor your end of the world prediction for the orange Turd winning.

Speak to any Ukrainian and they'll tell you they are absolutely terrified of a Trump victory but Itchy doesn't care a jot.

Only Palestine matters apparently, dead Ukrainians like the 14yo girl that had her head blown off sitting on a park bench yesterday in Kharkiv do not.

What you talking about ya f**king moron.

And I would wager I've personally done more to make Ukrainians welcome and integrated on this country than a fuckin p***k like you ever would.

I'm sorry if I wouldn't vote for a genocide supporting turd like Harris but I'm sure plenty of plastic paddy's will and disgrace themselves.

It's really very simple, if you're a yank or a plastic Paddy with a vote, you can:

a) hold your nose, help prevent a genocide in Ukraine and vote for Harris.

B) sit on your high horse at home, wasting a vote that could keep Trump out, and watch the situation get much much worse for both Ukrainians and Palestinians.

(C) Vote for Trump, in which case you're beyond help)

Doing A is not supporting genocide in Palestine.

It's going to be one or the other of them getting into the White House. Get off your high horse and ask any Ukrainian which they'd rather see win.

The Palestinians are fĂșcked no matter who's voted in in November..

APAIC has both parties bought and paid for.

American policy in the middle east will see another war in the next 5 years.

Quote from: Itchy on September 02, 2024, 02:01:28 PMYou think the issue of Palestinians being the victims of a genocide funded by your tax dollars is just some election issue with equal weight to other elections issues like the cost of living. I think that the Genocide of an innocent people paid for, supported by and ignored by the west is the measure of mankind itself and the point of no return for western civilization. It is a disgrace, it is evil. To do nothing only poo poo it is also evil. We are in 1938 Germany again and doing the same thing again. Absolutely horrendous.

Where did I say it had equal weight to something like cost of living issues?

The Dems are bad on this issue, but the GOP and Trump are even worse. In the grand scheme, it is a choice between very bad and horrific for the Palestinians. If that is all that matters for this election, then you either abstain or you go third party.

The problem is that is ISN'T all that matters, and the other things that matter and that could come with a Trump second term are not trivial things like the cost of living could, in relative terms, be classed as.

At least to me. You're entitled to your opinion.

"Hard censorship "?

Musk has been flagging and censoring leftist content for months now, especially when aimed at him, and he has been complying with the demand of authoritarian leaders in various countries that Twitter censor and remove content critical of them.

Free speech absolutist me arse.

Deliberate, or is it just that white rural conservative places that welcome him are the kind of places those laws existed?

A lot of the country outside of the south had sundown laws. Wasn't that long ago.

Someone sensible people in the US could vote for

If @TheDemocrats lose to Donald Trump again, they have no one to blame but themselves for their failures and betrayals that paved the way for Trump's rise in the first place - and which continue unabated.

In a democracy, no one owns your vote, candidates need to earn your vote - and the only "spoilers" are the political elites who work overtime to deny a meaningful democratic choice to voters who are hungry for real choice.

We urge all people of conscience to reject the corrupt parties of war and Wall Street, and cast a powerful vote against endless war and genocide, for an economy that actually works for working people, and for a livable future for our children.

Trump slightly back into the lead in the betting odds at 20/21, Harris at 21/20. Probably because of the polling in Pennsylvania that has Trump slightly ahead.

The debate might move things a bit more in Harris's favour.

Here we have it folks, sensible anti-genocide people in the US should vote for...an apologist for aspiring genocidist, dictator and war criminal Vladimir Putin.

Its going to be 50/50 all the way to election day. All the battleground states are within the margin of error if not actually tied.

And the other two times Trump was on the ticket, the polls were underestimating his support, whereas in 2022, they overestimated GOP support. It'll be impossible to call in advance unless something major happens which damages one of the candidates.
