The thought that enters my head the most today is that there are several players and a CEO or whatever the fcuk he is that have nowhere left to hide. The comfort blanket of blaming Mourinho has disappeared

It's put up or shut up time..

Pogba has no excuse now and Sanchez is going to have to start performing unless they get rid of him. I'd be happy if United could do a swap deal with Perisic.

Bailly has looked good in recent weeks so will probably get a run in the side, don't know who'll partner him but would expect Dalot & Shaw to be 1st choice fullbacks. Matic has to improve drastically but think everyone deserves a chance to show OGS what they can do.

I'd probably go with

De Gea
Dalot
Bailly
Lindelof
Shaw
Matic
Fred
Pogba
Mata
Rashford
Martial

Replace Lindehof with Koulibaly and the likes of Rabiot in for Matic/Fred and there is not much wrong with that team, especially if Lukaku/Sanchez start performing at somewhere near the level they should be at.

Lukaku isn't under performing. He is performing exactly about his level. Everton level. There's nothing to be gained from giving him a prolonged run in the team, in fact it would devalue him even more. A buyer should be found in January.

That's not true...

Lukaku has a certain way of playing. If you play to his strengths he will be exceptional. If you play him the way united play him he will be a bit better than average.

If he doesn't suit your style of play just sell him but he's not incapable. He will never be a "fox in the box".

He's a bear in the square. If that bear was Winnie the Pooh who sat around all day eating honey. Someone said it thee other day. Cantona turned a bad ball into a good one, Lukaku turns good balls, into bad ones. Saying Utd don't use him right is a load of shite. He's useless, has 50p's for feet and has the first touch of a trampoline. Like I said he's an Everton player and absolutely no better. Sale rail for him I'm afraid.

Lads Lukaku is only 25 and has scored 90 goals in the Premier League and is Belgium's record goal scorer. He's clearly not as 'sh*te' as people are making him out. That being said he does not suit the way United play. He has a poor first touch and United play slowly, cut back and try playing through the middle. He isn't good at holding the ball up 30 or 40 yards from goal. Very little crossing from the wingers, most of this comes from the full backs. Lukaku needs early ball into the box or early through balls to be effective.

Magpie called it from day one

Cheers.

Thought you might have had a wee gloat, jeepers you deserved it! Was it up until a couple of weeks ago people were still arguing with you?

Anyway with ole coming in, who are they waiting on til the summer?

Stepping back and putting aside the doom & gloom brought by Mourinho is gone and you have a club legend in place, Is Solskjær not a little underwhelming? Surely that job is too big for him?

Boycey

Seanies only right if we're not back in the same boat in 2/3 years otherwise we're all losers :D

Here's hoping hes right..

There you have it. All the millions Utd spend on players, coaches, training facilities, diet, preparation etc, but they just don't play the right way to suit Lukaku and it took some random guy on a GAA discussion board to figure it out. You should ring them up and tell them they're not using him right.

You sound f**king crazy.

Don't see why it would be too big of a job for Ole. He isn't really under big expectation being 8pts behind the top 4, and drawn with PSG in CL. He is there till end of season, playing good football would be a start. Get Sanchez and Pogba performing

Van Gaal and Mourinho had big pedigree and that wasn't a success.

Agreed. If he keeps them in the same position in the league he'll have done a good job.
Any talk of going far in the CL is fantasy stuff. There's probably 12 better teams than them left in the competition.

You think? Being Manager of Man Utd is no walk in the park. He will get a honey moon, but if the results don't change he'll get it as bad as the rest.

rodney trotter

Didn't say it was. He will be assisted by Mike Phelan, who was there before. Carrick and McKenna are both rated also.

It can't get much worse.

No pressure on him as there would be for a full time manager. The league season looks as good as dead already, 11 points off 4th and little expectation there so no he won't get it as bad as the rest and unless he does very well in the next 5 months he won't be around next season.

I think Manchester United will be knocked out in the next round of the Champions league however its a knock out competition and the best teams don't always win it or reach the final of the Champions league, Liverpool 2005 and last season a prime example of that.

laoislad

The obsession for Liverpool in this thread is hilarious.
The week ye sack the 3rd manager in 5 years and nearly every second post mentions Liverpool.
Hilarious.
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

Boycey

Can United win the Champions League, of course they can will they most probably not.  The bookies have them at 40/1, basically a 2.5% chance of winning it that's about right..
