And we wore Tipp style ones.
We did the same again in 1980 (Revenge sweet revenge ;D).
Some Dublin Street seller got badly done.He was trying to flog a load of large photos of the Ros team from the Semi with the change jerseys and of course not one Ros person would buy :D

We were robbed as usual especially by that ****er who ran across in front of Dermot as he was taking the late 50 in the drawn game >:( >:(
We'd have won the Final of course :P

As I pointed put in a previous thread -about 10 days ago !!!- the draw is completely open this year as Breheny and one or two other scribes spent most of last year complaining about the draws being artificial.
With likely 6 Leinster and 6 Ulster teams there's every chance of a repeat fixture or two !!!
Then Breheny and his fellow scribes will be able to repeat all their whinging articles f rom 2001 when they were moaning about the number of repeat fixtures and the need for the GAA to "do something about it"
As for fixture congestion - with 3 rounds to be played on top of each other it was a recipe for disaster.

Anyway this game could go either way as both teams have been inconsistent at best in recent times.
Both will feel they can win and that its their best chance for many a day of making a Connacht final.
I think we'll be in for a thriller - maybe the football wont be great- and wouldnt rule out a trip to Markievicz for a replay.
However apart from local bragging rights in border areas and the right to be considered Connacht second division's best this game wont have much affect on the race for Sam.
Hopefully a decent crowd will turn up and anyone(from Ros or Sligo) who misses this game to sit at home watching other teams on TV should be shot.

All this fuss about live TV for this game - was there a belief in Dublinmeath that RTE would simply drop one of the games from the lesser remote(from Dublin 4) Provinces?

Under the GFA we for the first time acknowledged and accepted the unionist veto,

If that were so then  the votes of Nationalists in the 6 North Eastern counties wont count in the event of a referendum on Re Uniting Ireland politically ??
Somehow I recall the GFA referring to a majority of the people of Northern(sic) Ireland ??

Shamrock Rovers and the DCB paid the same for their respective sites.
.

Ah for fcuk sake - -Shamrock Beggars GOT €1.5 or €1.9 m from Govt, a FREE site from the Council,€1.5m from the Council to "give"  back the free site.
Now the Council/Govt propose to build SR a FREE Stadium.
Dublin County Board paid yes PAID (a foreign concept to  scummy soccer) for land they BOUGHT (a foreign concept...) off the local Council to which there is no access as the Council cant get to build a Road to service the lands(something about an adjoining proposed halting site) as local residents/Councillors are opposing it.
So the DCB will either have to invest in a few Chinooks to get players/supporters etc in to the land they BOUGHT(a foreign concept....)
Ya just couldnt make it up.
If I was TD I waould be going to Court seeking an Order to compel the Comptroller/Auditor General to investigate the whole saga and waste of public money.
